I found this to be true myself when toying with a copy of DB2. Their installer and most of its programs rely on statically coded filepaths, so it breaks quickly on new versions of RHEL and SUSE. For being so dedicated to Linux, they've managed to make using their software on it a real PITA.

I think he's referring to the fact that once you plug it into the switch, traffic that isn't destined for the tap simply won't be "switched" to its port. On the other hand, hubs pass all traffic to all ports. Our Network Admin here can enable a "Span" port on a switch though that will send all traffic, no matter the destination, down that port for inspection.

Even then the calibration will rely on how well the sensor bar is centered on top of the television - a factor the developers cannot control.

b and c) Have you not noticed how much trouble some people have with even the basics of Wii control? Also, I personally have zero interest in attaching the remote to _ANY_ of my limbs.

    d) Agreed completely. Apparently they won't even be releasing a network play API to 3rd parties for up to a year !! I find this a terrible blunder of launching any system in 2007 and I would be very unhappy with it if I weren't so busy replaying the NES Super Mario Bros.

Oracle Linux isn't positioned as a general purpose distro but as a platform for an Oracle database (hine: don't call Oracle if you have a Samba issue).
My boss attended the last OpenWorld and had a much different opinion than your own. We (web developers) actually had to convince him not to change our current software stack out for their "Red Stack." It consisted of Red Hat Linux with Apache, PHP and Oracle DB but here's the real kicker: as long as we ran on Oracle's "Red Stack" they would support our custom PHP code with everything else. They are supporting more than Oracle DB - they're supporting the whole webserver stack as well as any code you write on that stack - so I would have to disagree with you on the impact of this issue.
