The only threat to the ideal of a global encyclopedia is to filter out opinion from facts. But one has to ask, who knows all the 'facts'?
It must be very difficult with some topics to derive what exactly is the 'truth.'
For instance, what about the perception about how an economy works vs. the reality of gray and black markets affecting that economy?
How does the military work? The government? Who is really in charge and makes the decisions?
Do we rely on CIA and Census figures? Do we rely on 'official' government papers? Encyclopedia Britannica? The internet? The mass media?
He should have waited to drop out of college, steal some interesting new code to infect people's computers, and then go on a grander scale with his own BotNet mega-empire called 'Botulized'
How about creating ones on a bigger scale and then putting a few of these machines at the factory runoff/waste exitways and provide clean water to our streams and rivers as well? I could see this as a potential future for this technology.
This would be another way to help the environment and the world's population in the process.

With this amazing new technology, you will sure to be hooked!

They have created a formula that allows gravity to change continuously over various distance scales and, most importantly, fits the data for observations of galaxies...It is time to keep an open mind...
There is not much in this article that gives us a clue as to what they are referring to. But I guess we have to wait for their Edinburgh presentation in April.
Moreover, the topics chosen are discussed in a rather cursory manner. The code samples throughout the book are generally quite minimal, with little to no explanation as to how they work.
Here! This is what I mean! YOU figure out the rest!!

USATODAY is reporting that lawmakers in the US are proposing legislation that would keep Google and others out of China.
Too late! China has already de-constructed and reverse-engineered Google. They have changed the code ever so slightly, and is coming out with their very own search engine called 'Choogle' in June 2006.
I had a Commodore 64, it lasted about 2 years before it died. My favourite game was Bruce Lee where you kick ninja butt incessantly.
Also did some BASIC programming with it.
Captain Kirk was a great salesman. He could have sold Valentine's Day cards to a Vulcan.
The researchers took 30 pairs of undergraduate students and gave each one a list of 20 statements about topics like campus food or the weather. Assuming either a serious or sarcastic tone, one member of each pair e-mailed the statements to his or her partner. The partners then guessed the intended tone and indicated how confident they were in their answers. Those who sent the messages predicted that nearly 80 percent of the time their partners would correctly interpret the tone. In fact the recipients got it right just over 50 percent of the time."
I call BS on that one, how can they say this stuff? How can they figure anything conclusively in a study with a group of 60 students? The recipients can't decide what is sarcastic or not? WTF?
((Which half were you on? I was just being sarcastic.))
Say I wanted to switch from Windows Server 2003 to Linux in a company of about 400 people with the same equipment I already have, generally speaking how long would it take and how much would I need to invest?
Do I need to hire several Linux experts just to get it up and running?
Would you expect this to be relatively easy or would it be very complicated and time consuming?
After several stories written recently about companies having their customer databases compromised, can we really trust any company to keep our data secure?
Right now, when someone is out of wireless coverage range and can't immediately get e-mail access, RIM's service stores incoming messages on computers at one of its two network operations centers, or NOCs. When you come back into coverage range, those e-mails are forwarded to you automatically.
Under the workaround, these waiting e-mails would be stored somewhere else -- on the servers that sit behind the firewall of a company or carrier network. A large part of the infringement of the NTP patents is based on the e-mails being stored at the NOC, analysts say.
They could have just renamed or recreated the NOC as something else like, 'HELL' - the Humongous Email Limbo Lockup.
This way, when NTP asks them how they did it, they can simply say 'Go to HELL.'
There's more profit to be had this way, which is why it's done like this. What, you expected some ethical or technical reason?
Good point...now to find out who I can sue to make a quick buck. Maybe that kid in 9th grade who always copied the answers from my tests?
I hear he is a really kick-ass scientist now.

Not bad money for a high school dropout.

Isn't that how Enron ran its entire accounting department?
No, they just lied and made stuff up. No need for any data entry, ingenuity or even common sense.

I'm not picking on anyone, video games are cool!
:)
I am sure the MacBook Pro will go to good use, no matter what it is
Next you'll have to share your DNA configuration.
Not so bad, if you get to choose who you share it with!
Looks like there is going to be alot of DNA sharing later tonight, after all it's Valentine's Day!
Seriously, i'm waiting for someone to give good benchmarks on these- especially testing for Warcraft.
;)
So you are spending close to $2000 so you can have slightly better graphics in WarCraft?
The Yahoo UIL page and the Google Code pages are both useful and coincidentally look quite similar.

Seews like a neat way to do it, and it will look like any other native app.
You are correct, the CodeWeavers always sew the apps neatly.

Just have the phone light up and vibrate as the default, with the ringer as an option?
Maybe this way it will cut down on the annoying cell music I hear every day?

That is the real question.
After several stories written recently about companies having their customer databases compromised, can we really trust any company to keep our data secure?
I would say no.
Please dear God, let there be no "Hang 10" jokes in this thread...
Well you asked for it....
The reason why Firefox is safer is that you don't have to 'hang 10' seconds while the domain infects the first Internet Explorer configuration.
Thanks I'll have to check out the suggestions
1. The music is usually bad
2. The music is the same playlist shuffled differently for each new day
3. There are no deejays that will actually play obscure requests
4. Too many annoying commercials / fake deejays
5. Too many stations are owned by the same companies
6. Companies have been doing 'pay to play' illegally - big surprise
7. I buy my own music to hear the artists I enjoy - I am in control

I say cram as much stuff as you possibly can into it, just don't let the price go too high.
