yea the corprate editions of norton rock.. none of the flashy bloated crap.. jsut install and forget.. talks to the managed server and does it's job.. with less overhead than i have ever seen any other virus scan for windows.
Yea.. I am not quite sure what this guys is trying to host (single site/server or more) but if he is talking about law peps I would assume it is something large.. so take this little bit I do
before I host anything any where (now note I get hosting for 2-24u at a time) I ask for tour of the NOC.. I want to see where I will be at - this is where I look at what is around that - most people and NOC's label peoples servers very noticeably and you can see what other companies host there at that exact place.. when I have a list and I get home.. I call and ask them, if you can get a hold of the person that is in charge of it they will give you honest answers..
the hosting company will tell you everything you want to hear. their clients (and not the ones on the list the company gives you) will tell you what they wanted to hear before they started hosting there.
or the plane could listen to signals (ones it doesn't bend) just like a sub listens to other subs and natural sounds in water.. and can map the enviornment from that - there by flying via pasive scanning.. subs do it all the time.. but then again they don't have nearly as much to worrie about as planes..
I would think a little different.. the Stealth Bomber is "Stealth" against active radar.. but can still be seen via passive radar..
abet harder to set up a passive radar system but not imposable..
when you send out the radar wave and look for what bounces back that is active.. when you have something on the other side of your target looking for that wave - that is passive.
if you setup two towers and the broadcast to each other and you fly between them they can tell even if they can see it actively... if you set up a perimeter of them say 3-4-5 or more and they all talk back and forth.. they could see the stealth bomber fly through and if your field is dense enough they would be able to track it easily
with this type of tech the item would be invisible to active and passive radar.. although I bet it would show some type of ghosting effect for areas near it via passive scan.. it would be very hard to track.
what it looks like to me is.. ok so they set something up using normal 100/1000 ethernet and then realized something was slow and that if they use gbic 30gb ports things run faster... can someone please sent them a cookie?
that was my thought exactly (not the salt vat.. althought i like it)
we have a small office ~20 computers and 3 servers.. and i refuse to buy switchs that can't do cut through.. store and forward is slow..and very memory entisive for switchs on high speed networks..
i don't think he would have worried really.. because you get what you pay for.. while these laptops are cool and i have already pledged for one.. they do not have the power that a mac book does.. which is why it will not change my mind about wanting to get a mac book..
it doesn't invalidate the power issue. there are far to many variables to cover and honestly no hardware review site has the testing equipment to test how much power a chipset uses.. they are taking relative delta values and shoving them on there web site..
personaly i don't think it will hurt ATI one bit.. board designers are used to this kind of thing and it will make no diffrence.. except on low end boards expect to see Realtek chips and high end see Intel Pro's or some thing of the like..
personaly i don't like the idea of nV putting theirs in because i am not a fan of their network cards - they just don't have the reformace that i want... numbers arn't everything - stability and consitencey both play heavy in the real world..and can't be repersented on a review site.
If you read correctly you will note that they didn't build it into the CHIPSET - i would bet you would be hard pressed to find a board with that chipset that didn't have a Netcard built in.... personaly i think it makes sence.. it is a chipset designed to talk to devices.. and an network card is designed to talk to the world.. and honestly other companys are better at designing network cards then ATI or nVidia.. let the main board manufacture pick which one to put on.
then you my freind need some good beer.. you can most certly tell the diffrence between good beer and bad beer.. even when drunk.. the real question is... do you care?
I love magnatune - they have a great setup and they "are not evil" - the only thing i wish they would change is that if you buy the CD that the cd be one with album art if there is any, All the albums that i have gotten have been the generic case and label..
if anyone knows if there is a way to get them with album art please tell me i havn't found it yet.
every time i call some tech line and they say their name is bob or chris or dave it tell them to stop lieing to me.. and ask them what their real name is.. Usually they tell me or they hang up
yeap.. 8.5PM of perfection for lowend pro market.. i got to use one last year and fell in love - but with any camera the real trick with it is the lens got to have a good lens to get good pictures.. and i have yet to see a compact that had even a slitly decent lens....
My issue with air bags is they are not reliable.. i have been in three acidents and only once did airbags go off.. and that was when i hit someone doing abou 12 mph.. no damage to the car except the airbags (which totaled the car - they are bloody expensive) the other accident i was stoped and hit by a truck doing ~60mph - the hit was so hard that he pushed me into the car infront of me and the engine was sitting next to me, they never went off, the third someone hit me and pushed me out into an intersection and i got hit in the side.. agian they never went off..
I hate them because honestly i just wish our cars where built stronger and not turn into swiss cheese when someone hits you. I think they give people a false sence of security as they are not reliable - atleast not in my eyes
We have found that Removable HDD's are cheaper per GB than tape.. alot faster for backup and restore.. just not quite as good for long term storage. but considering we reimage every server weekly and always keep a monthly image off site.. it turnes out to be better than tapes.. except for room in the fire safe - tapes are much smaller

If i remember correctly the fighter isthe one that mainly relies on reflecting it in random directions.
the B2 absorbes it

yeap... and some of them are quite funny.. atleast that they are not real for the computer your viewing them on

ok i will take that back.. it is posiable for a site to do it.. but
doing it != more $
where as screaming this is faster than that = $
and well they are all about the $$$ so yea.. i have stoped reading them mostly also.

Ok so the ones i am buying must not have uploaded art.. that would explain it. thanks.

i was about to post the same thing.. they are cool as hell.. i wish they would start putting them on everything..
and personaly that is what matters.. because after the first 4 beers well... you really can't tell the diffrence between consoles
If it is inclusive of VAT then .. yea i see it.. that and Import tax on the product.
it is expensive to live over there compared to the US.. (except wine & good beer)
every time i call some tech line and they say their name is bob or chris or dave it tell them to stop lieing to me .. and ask them what their real name is.. Usually they tell me or they hang up
i have given up on teaching users this.. when they ask why it is slow i tell them it is big and will take a while..... and some times they wait...

yea the modern idea of a bumper is puly cosmetic.. a bumper used to be able to take a hit .. now days they are expensive and a bike can destroy one

My issue is there is no good low-middle range.. you can get a 12/24 for a decent price but 100/200 is just .. well over priced..
we switched to HDD's in removable racks..
but then agian we don't care about shelf life only making it through a fire
