Sorry but attacking me as if i am "listening to people who make money and power from scaring people" is not a good way to make an argument, in fact its rather insulting.

I don't give a shit what the media says or what the people in office say or what the banks say.

I look at it as how our society has developed over the past 100 years and the transfer of wealth from one group to another. We have so many problems right now that are related to money that there is no one/two/100 things you could do to make it all better - sadly that means they keep throwing money that doesn't exist at it.

the fact that people are using it as an excuse to further their own personal wants is the same mentality that got us where we are today..

I can't give you an answer - no one can (at least not one someone can poke holes in) but i do know that the current approach is not going to help.

its an odd thing that i've been thinking about lately.

the US owes most of it's debt to China
that debt is under agreement that it is forfeited if China commits acts of war against the US
China is heavily doing corporate & government espionage - including "hacking"
the US recently said "hacking" is an act of war

it will be interesting how that plays out in the next decade - either way we are fucked money wise.

but hey the fact that a high powered laser can burn through objects and set them on fire - yea that won't damage any electronics.. and yea pointing it at one for a few seconds couldn't possibly be faster than taking the screen apart and desoldering it..

if your looking to disable the LED - burn it out - use a high powered green laser pointer (the ones that can set things on fire).. pointblank for a few seconds should heat the LED to the point that the substrate fails.. effectively burning it out - no need to dissemble.

the only side lot is that the HP campus that was there was ~9k people so we know that that traffic has been experienced so in reality the total traffic volume increase should be 3k people which is ~26% increase in traffic .. not nearly as much but still a good bit.

the second would have been to his response on traffic.. while they are not really increasing the number of people they employ (sorry 20% is a lot for anyplace) but now they have 2.5k in one spot and the rest spread out.. now they will have 12k going to one place every day.. that is going to be a nightmare if not planned for.

but then again these are your council people.. i don't expect logical questions from them.. hopefully the city planner and PE's will point it out when they submit their plans.

and you where originally comparing them to generation facilities not I.

but the one way you can compare them is that they allow you to not have to build more generation facilities that have the purpose of dealing with flux - and rather better utilize your baseline supply. when you look at them in that light i would find it hard to believe that they have near the lifetime CO2 cost as a generation (coal/gas) plant.
