Yeah, I see jack shit from these people about restoring property, rights, and livelihoods stolen by the U.S. Government from poligamous families over the past 100 years. But your butthurt matters more, I guess.
Straight married men have law encoded the discrimination all throughout marriage contract law stacking decisions against them because of perceived "righteous" stereotypes. Straight married men still pay alimony simply because a judge deems them required to support the "standard" a woman is somehow guaranteed to live at, forever. I don't see any LGBT groups fighting to get back all of the property, land, and privilege stripped from polygamous families over one hundred years ago. Somehow, the magical fairy that grants "rights" to marry doesn't visit consenting adults on the unapproved list. The only issue anyone seemed to care about is personal issues, not civil rights.
Really, your theory makes more sense considering the histories I've seen in climbing the ladder. Giving anyone ammunition against you equates to asking them to shove the daggers in your back as they use them to climb over your cold-dead body.
But there are real jobs out there that will require more than automation. Asteroid mining alone will require thousands of people to deal with the myriad of decisions needed on a constant basis outside of the mostly automated labor, IMO.
Gonna be a long while till robots will be able to do all the shitty things nomadic, entry-level employees do.
It will be a while before robots can do all of those jobs, but many of them will soon be automated. If you go into a McDonald's, half the employees are taking orders, and the other half are fulfilling them. The people taking the orders could easily be replaced: Just turn the touchscreens around so that customers can enter their own orders, and then swipe a card to pay. Grocery stores have already done this, and so have banks. Fast food is next.
The only reason robots are not in the fields now is that farmers are ill-prepared to understand the shifts they'll need to operate under. Picking robots already exist on the indiviidual plant levels and are cheaper than human labor.
But that's not what happens. The administration(s) make secret deals with big pharma to force Americans to purchase drugs at a premium in exchange for backing their legislation. Likewise, we have politicians telling disabled veterans that they need less of a retirement so government can hand out free money to illegal aliens, and ridiculous people on a supposed reason-enriched online community expecting us to believe that H1B visas were enacted to simply fill jobs Americans won't do.
Yes, we call those slaves when their ability to work is directly tied to the master that controls them. No fan of unions, myself. However, neither am I a fan of not reinvesting in your country or culture.
I agree, mate. The moral of the story is plenty of people seem to have no respect for the labor of citizens and willingly break the law when it comes to their personal interests. Somehow the government never holds these people accountable to the law.
Then I see the kids who are put into the foster care system and see how fucked up they become. Only White babies get a chance at a loving home - and even then - if they have developmental problems, all bets are off (You WILL see them on death row.).
I am troubled.
So full of it more likely. I had a very good friend take a crack baby into her home for foster care and fought in the courts for four years before they would finally release the child to her for adoption. Mother completely abandoned her. Father serving a life sentence for multiple murders. But the state felt they were doing her an injustice allowing a white woman to adopt a black child. That little girl is doing great now and will get a free ride at her mother's college because of employment.
But it's much easier to bitch about (insert rant about races here) apparently than actually do something.
This is a fair point in the discussion. I went into business with a friend who became a friend after he taught a college class I attended. While not on the level of Facebook, it certainly enhanced our families' incomes.
I do hope you are doing well in your position. However, one wonders what the statistics are for successful fiction writers in your particular nation. Rick Frishman stated that 5% of authors are capable of living off their writing proceeds, but I do not have any solid data on the subject. If we accept that figure, should the other 95% of writers just die?
Again with the Republican gripes. On what world do you believe the Democratic party is any different from Republicans? Do Democrats love you any more? Do they wipe your butt? They certainly steal money from you just like Republicans. Even more since Obama signed the largest tax increase ever calling it health care Those same Democrats will institute robots tomorrow if it gets them elected and capable of staying in power. Anything else would be foolish from a political point of view.
Yes, because somehow, not believing what you believe in strips a person of their Constitutional rights.

Which other Constitutional rights are you willing to eliminate? That is why I would never trust you.

Retarded religious beliefs? My how the Constitution quickly becomes toilet tissue.
Hey you be the slave and I'll be the Roman citizen. That's how it worked back then mate.
Amen

Redbox has more selection than the BlickBuster did next door.

Berry nice: The robot can harvest strawberries every 8 seconds and works while farmers sleep.

I do wonder what the market would be like if only foreign H1B workers were allowed to be corporate officers in America. Of course, fat chance.
Change you can count on!

Racists!
Really, I stay up at night concerned about your opinion. Promise.
I agree.
Most statistics I've seen would argue different. But, I understand why you probably need a boogy man.

Funny we never see Microsoft advocating citizenship for H1B visa holders.
