  1. About time they do this!! on X.org and XFree86 Reform · · Score: 2, Interesting

Its been a while since xfree has done anything innovative at all, and with freedesktop making its rounds very quickly, this could lead to really great things for the linux desktop.

  5. Re:Extra Memory Usage on New X Proposal on Freedesktop.org · · Score: 1

Most peopole who want to run the flashy stuff have pc's equipped to handle it. Me for instance, have 1 gig pc2700 memory, a geforce 4 ti4200 with 128 ddr, and a athlon xp 2500 process, i want pretty, not gritty!

Ive played with alot of diffrent window manager, and i even dual boot so when i need to do the "occaisional" thing in windows I can. Linux desktops "if properly" configured surpass windows and like i said above, most people who want to have the nice and l33t desktops have systems that can handle it, those with 8 megs should stick with a default fvwm :)

  6. this sounds like a great idea on New X Proposal on Freedesktop.org · · Score: 4, Insightful

its about time someone does some decent work on the actuyal framework of the xserver, because right now, most limitations are not due to the window manager, rather the server.

Not only would MS cheat to win a poll/election, they stuff thier search results making linux look bad. This is just simply bad business practices. Did you ever hear in any business class that conpetition was NOT good for business?

  8. Welll well... on Worm vs. Worm Battle Slows Networks · · Score: 1

Would you look at that! If i remember correctly, in the previous post on /. about lovesan, someone asked about what if someone released a worm to basically FIX msblast, and there were several replies stating how it would make things worse! This proving thier points, that you cant always fix a worm with a worm.
