My guess is that Nokia will probably start reworking Qtopia to better suit their needs. And since their Qt-using competitors don't want a conflict of interest, they'll probably switch to another platform. Why don't we make it GTK+-based? And how about we call it... ...Maemo?
The difference is, one has to go out and buy Vista, a major system upgrade, spend 100-600 dollars, and knowingly install it on their computer. This update was just pushed out like a routine security update, and few people would expect a routine update to screw over their system.
With Deskbar, after pressing alt-space, I could: *launch a program out of the App menu *launch a program from my PATH *go to a web page *start a mail to someone with their address or name *launch a bookmark *run a Tracker search *look up something in the dictionary *post to Twitter
And all of this is done in context, without having to drop a command before it.
Well, in GNOME, the menu key serves the same function as in Windows (r-click menu), but the Super/Win key seems to be set up as a modifier key by default. It sounds like you can't use modifier keys by themselves, so you can't have Super-Tab (WindowFlow switching) and Super pulling up the app menu at the same time, you have to choose.
PS: Since I never actually use the Menu key for menus, i disabled it, and remapped it to Scale and Expo (Alt-Menu).
Considering the popularity of Launchy (Win), Vista's start search, Quicksilver/Spotlight (Mac), Katapult (KDE) and GNOME Deskbar, I'd say he either hit a home run or knows trends when he sees them.
Personally, I feel very lost when I can't use any of those tools.
Actually, from a few of Don's posts, it sounds like the important part (the actual simulation) is completely separate from the graphics code. If someone wanted to write a WinForms or Qt frontend, the porting would be relatively easy.
A) Assuming the connection is sourced from a single WAP, you would start running into major lag issues after 3-5 hops B) 54Mbps will not sustain an entire country. If they really wanted to do a totally wireless network, they should be looking into something more like WiMAX or LTE. And realistically, they should be doing FTTH (fiber to the homes) to replace copper.
Actually, yes it is. DD-WRT (http://dd-wrt.com/) has a feature that lets you put out a second (up to 4 IIRC) SSID with separate security and etc. It's only available in the RCs at the moment (and broken in RC6, but working in RC5).
I had the same issues (Lode Runner FTW), but the problems went away later that evening as the load died down. The Live issues have been going for at least a month now.
Um, there's a fully supported, official KDE flavor of Ubuntu (Kubuntu)

Source (the HL2 engine) is Windows (and PS360) only
Yes on the touchscreen Macs, but the multi-touch on the iPhone and MacBook trackpads is something different altogether.
Get this ported to OSX then. OSX has the Newton's handwriting system under the name of Inkwell. You just need the proper hardware for it.

Are you using either AfterEffects or Quicktime while getting a kick out of these replies?
Thought not. Shame, though.

Good call there. Someone give this man a mod point.
As the clocks struck thirteen, a strong wind blew over comrade #443602's head, as he simply didn't get it.

It's not like any hydrogen-filled balloons have exploded or anything...
...wait.
Only reason one would wear sunglasses on a night operation.
(Deus Ex, IIRC)
UNIX SimCity was actually the first multiplayer SimCity game, and Micropolis seems to hold on to this feature. Not sure how to work it though.

Unless you live in some alternate universe, (where I would like to move), SNES games are 800 points ($8 US).
Spurs = 5
Spurious = 8
8 - 5 = 3

Welcome to 2007. WPA/WPA2 is much more secure than it's ancestors.

Seconded. Get this to run on an HTC StrTrk (Cingular 3125 in the States, not sure internationally) and I might actually start liking it.
That's no blaster, it's a rocket launcher. From Quake 3: Arena if I'm not mistaken.
