    The HP50g, TI89, and TI-Nspire CAS all have CAS systems (though the basic form factor is mostly the same as their 48g, 84+ and Nspire kin)

    PS: I reccomend the 50g myself. It's definitley a bit on the advanced end (and has RPN as an option, which is what attracted me to HPs in the first place), but shouldn't be a problem for you judging by your homepage URL

    TI sorta dominates the high school graphing calculator business. Their current flagship (the TI-84+) hasn't changed drastically from the 81, but their next in line (the Nspire) is completely from scratch (but I'll keep my RPN thank-you-very-much)

    Amazon does sell .cdas of music. It's DRM-free too. Thing is, it takes forever to download, but you get a free frisbee and storage case for the trouble.

    Sorry, but quite a few other browsers (Opera, Konqueror, Safari(the WebKit part anyways)) are written in C++, and they don't seem to have near the problems Firefox has.

    Is sshd installed by default? It's not exactly what one would consider an essential need for a desktop user (which is Ubuntu's primary target)

    They would have to have something to take down first. If I understand correctly, isoHunt is merely a search engine, and they don't have any files to take down (even less than "normal" torrent sites)

    When you try to play a video Totem can't handle, it should try to install the codec. Of course, you would know this if you read the linked release notes, but I know that's too much to ask of an AC that won't even bother to log in.

    Gnome makes sure the apps aren't squandering resources and making the computer work more than it has to, sucking less power.

    From the version currently in Gutsy, they basically threw all the appearance-related apps into one mega-app. I haven't noticed any missing functionality (in fact, the fonts and toolbar applets are unchanged), though I would appreciate if Ubuntu came up with a more useful "simple" Compiz app (it's currently "off", "on", "insane")

    They might, but books and movies are clearly under protection of the First Amendment, and I would almost guarantee that any member of the assembly that tries would get laughed out of office. Quite a few books from the official reading list in my high school would get a big fat "M" or "R" sticker as games or movies.

    It means that not only was the law struck down by the court, the state assembly cannot attempt to revive the law or a (IIRC) similar law

    There's a reason you can't do that with iTunes, it starts with R, ends with A, and has an IA in the middle.

    It won't matter once it's integrated with your preferred music library app (which it sounds simple enough for a x.y.2 "bugfix" release)

    The only "accessories" I've ever bought for a MP3 player are a pair of Sennheiser PX100 headphones and a standard 1/8 inch headphone jack to RCA cable, both of which have gone from my Muvo, to my iPod Shuffle, to the Muvo again (snapped the USB off the shuffle), to a 5G iPod, to a Sansa c250, to a Pioneer Inno. I've never really needed much more than the lanyard/belt clip that came with the player.

    Just so you know, the "little nub in the middle of the keyboard" is called a Trackpoint (ThinkPad), Trackstick (Dell), or pointing stick (other peoples)

    The c1xx series sucks. The c2xx series is MUCH better, has a rechargeable battery and works perfect with just about anything (thanks to UMS support). And I know the e2xx series (which the View is likely based off of) is even better from a UI standpoint

    By "religious beliefs", I'm sure you meant to say "legal restrictions", since you can't legally ship most of the codecs you mentioned without a license. And in the recent releases (Feisty and on) Ubuntu will offer to automatically install codecs for you when you try to play without the codecs. And there is a single package (ubuntu-restricted-extras) that will install Flash and Java support (PDF and Office formats are supported out of the box if you didn't bother to try).

    That sounds more like it. I had a 5G of a friend's that I synced up using Banshee. I dumped the songs on, hit sync, waited, ejected it afterwards, and it got stuck in an infinite reboot loop. Had to find out how to throw it into emergency disk mode (I think it was toggle hold back/forth, hold back+select if it ever happens to you) and restore iPOS (pun not intended) from a Windows machine with iTunes.
