Point 1) To me, the 3d graphics don't make a lick of difference. The real killer feature in Pokemon D/P is the online play, both the direct connect and the Bidoof Dumpi[esc]dw dw i Global Trading System.
Point 2) I really, REALLY don't want to here "pik-A-chu!" every time I put him out into battle. And anyways, it means that we won't have an entire new set of noises to pick up for every pokemon come Pokemon Plutonium/Uranium. And 496 voice clips, for the EN/JP/ES/DE/etc.. dubs add up quickly
Yes, it is. It's open-source (Helix player), very streamlined, and I'd go as far out as to say it's better than Totem, GNOME's built-in player (which personally doesnt mean much). It is also 100% ad free, and I think the non-Open version even handles DRM'd RealMedia (which is sometimes a necessary evil). If only they'd use the profits from the ads in the Windows version to put a CSS decoder and DVD support in the Linux version so we can finally have legit (in US) DVDs in Linux. I'd even pay for that.
Well, let's see here: The recording industry wants gobs of money, is inherently evil, and hates the internet. RealNetworks wants gobs of money, is somewhat evil, but loves the internet, puts out a very good mostly OSS Linux media player, and is just as screwed as SomaFM and (insert station here) if this goes through.
"They don't ask for money" unless you want Jabber support, which is more important to me than any other protocol. All of their free (and mostly open) competitors offer Jabber without charging $25 for it.
"and Trillian, now at version 3.1, remains the client to beat"
*pffffft* Oh, that's hillarious.......... Wait, you were serious? I've never liked Trillian, mostly because of it's ridiculous bloat, general non-conformance to any UI standard, costs more to be useful (Jabber), etc...
I dunno about the current state of their Windows version, but the Linux version is MILES (possibly light-years) better then it's Windows bretheren. It's even open source.
Neither does the Nintendo DS. The current best-selling game system is now illegal in New York, which is also the location of Nintendo World. Way to go NY
Or better, strip out the fancy XUL/Gtk/Cocoa based frontend, replace it with a web-based one, turn it into a daemon, and have it seamlessly pump content to your Xbox/A.TV/etc.
Save as.is_audio_player in the root of your Zen. Start up Banshee (and use Add/Remove Programs to install it if you don't have it), and it should recognize it.
What you need to do is use your favorite text editor (if you don't have a favorite, use "Text Editor" in GNOME, or "Kate" in KDE) to make a file called.is_audio_player . Since you have a Sansa, you'll be able to use the same file I have, which is below for your cut-and-pasting pleasure
Just put those three lines in the file, save it to the root of your player. When you pull it up in Banshee (and probably Amarok), it will handle it as an audio player, along with all the fun options you normally get from iTunes (automagic ogg->mp3 transcoding is a godsend for me)
If I'm not mistaken (I'm primarily a Banshee user, but used Amarok in the past), there should be an option somewhere in Amarok to tell it where to put your music and podcasts. Just make sure that's set (for the Sansa, it's/media/Sansa c250*/MUSIC) and you should be good.
*Where it mounts depends on your desktop. In GNOME, it's/media/volume_name (Sansa c250 in my case, probably Sansa m2x0 in yours), and in KDE it's usually/media/sdx1, x being a letter a thru z
Sorry, but Solaris is open-source under the GPL. And in legal terms, that means that they have to release any source they modify. It's hard for any legal department to defend themselves when they're clearly in the wrong.
Too late. EA/Maxis is working on GPL'ing the Unix version of SimCity for the OLPC project, and the OLPC people are porting it to Python/Sugar. It will be included on the hardware.

I consider myself an average Slashdot reader. I love Linux and Google, and hate Microsoft and Sony. I also play Pokemon.
I've heard that it appears to work as well as it does on XP. Just don't expect Apple to support it (not that anyone gives support for betas anyways)
And who ever said he SHOULD be in charge of any computer-related legislation?
Much like this judge.
Eclipse also does Python and C++ via plugins (pydev and eclipse-cdt respectivley)

I hear the Mac version's pretty decent too.

On my PIII 700MHz running Win2k, it's unusable. Are you running the latest version?

You mean like H.264?
No holes for Opera? Oh well...
(sits back in corner with large grin on face)
viper-mode
This is closer to a mash-up of an ~1/2 size SD card and USB stick (there'll be a miCard-SD adapter, and it's got USB pinouts on the card itself.

Only failed overthrows are criminal. Successful overthrows are perfectly legal (since you now define legal)

I don't believe it allows you to send live TV over the internet.
They have said that the bug will be fixed in 0.9.6, but no-one has a clue when that will be released. I think it might be fixed in the SVN version.

audio_folders=MUSIC/,RECORDINGS/
folder_depth=2
