As long as we are tax-paying, upstanding legal residents, it should make NO difference if we are citizens or not in order to purchase shares.

I'm not sure the citizenship requirement is legal. If we are legal residents of the U.S. we normally have the same rights as anybody else, with very few exceptions (such as voting and jury duty). As long as we are tax-paying, upstanding citizens, it should make NO difference if we are citizens or not in order to purchase shares.
Well the fact is that many (maybe even most) Mac users have little or NO use for ftp at all, and I'm pretty sure Apple knows this as it is their business to know it. Those who do have a use already know how to deal with it and already use the CLI, or a venerable old client such as Fetch. Offering a Finder version would be practically pointless, except for the lazy. That said if they did offer one I would use it, but since they don't I'm perfect happy use Transmit, which is WAY more than a finder would be.
"1) Apple hiring people to write software for Windows."
That has already happened, which is why you have iTunes and QuickTime for Windows.
"2) Adobe actually being willing to sell. Well, at least not without a fight."
Why wouldn't they? They're close to Apple, the corporate culture appears to be very similar, and Apple just announce major plans for a 50 acre, $700 million expansion. Why do you suppose they need all that extra space? Their business has tripled in the last five years but it certainly appears as if they have a big need to add thousands of new employees.
Besides, Australia is a relatively small market of around only 25 million people. I suspect buying power figures in the prices of products there, just like it does everywhere else.

I saw her at the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics (on TV) and she looked decidedly main stream. Actually, I have mostly disliked her music but I liked both her look and performance there. Now I have something else to like about her.
Yeah it's unthinkable that she is one of the most popular shows in Vegas, and that millions of people who adore her singing have bought millions of her albums.
iPod shipments are up 61 percent compared to last year, and the company has now sold over 50 million units.
The iPod market share is up, too, accounting for 78 percent of the portable music players sold. In December 2005, that number was at 71 percent
Outside of the United States, the iPod is the top-selling MP3 player in the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and Canada.
Despite strong iPod sales, Apple sees room for major growth in the MP3 player market. Based on sales of other consumer electronic devices, Mr. Oppenheimer noted, "The MP3 player market has a lot of room for growth. According to Forester research, U.S. household MP3 player penetration was less than one quarter that of digital cameras as of the end of 2005."
Well it certainly seems to have affected McGill University (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mcgill_University), a publicly funded institution in Quebec, but Canada is a very large and diverse country. This could simply be a case of the wrong grant application in the wrong place. I'm just guessing, but if he had applied for this grant at, say, the UofT or UBC or the UofA and away from the predominately Catholic province of Quebec (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_province#Reli gious_groups) the result may have been very different. Maybe not, but it is definitely walking on tenuous waters to include all of Canada in any interpretation McGill's actions without taking the various regional religious inclinations into consideration.
I mean, really. If you fall into that category, what distinguishes you from a monkey pressing a lever?"
Because idiots are half-wits who have an inability to learn. Ignorance is just a lack of knowledge. Therefore, since most people can learn they are not idiots but simply ignorant.
You need to read the User Agreements. You can actually install OSX on two Macs - your desktop and your portable. The operative word in that sentence is Mac. It doesn't say you can install it on your Dell.
RTFA. It has two Firewire 800 ports (important for booting and for chaining firewire drives) and one USB2. It's true there are hundreds of USB drives. Many aren't portable, aren't bus powered, and aren't bootable.
This review has actually missed the point. If all you need is storage then this drive is both unnecessary and over-priced, as you can buy a 250GB dual Firewire 800 and USB2 drive for under $200 US. If you need reliable portable backup you can boot from while on the road then this drive could be invaluable to you.
A portable drive must be bootable because if it's useful only for storage then it's over-priced. That's why it also has to have Firewire, unless you want to fiddle with firmware to get your Mac to boot from USB.
"With linux we have the ability to make it appear and work how we want it to, without having to apply third party applications just to provide basic security and functionality."
"If you like tweaking your system to become an extension of your personality then I would suggest Linux."
Forgive me for asking as I use neither Linux nor Windows, but isn't there a subtle contradiction in these two statements? How is tweaking Linux any different than applying third party applicatons to Windows? Do you never apply third party apps to Linux in order to make it appear and work how you want it to? Aren't there different GUIs for Linux? Aren't there security enhancements one can install?
What you say is very true. Adobe for example, basically crippled text editing in Acrobat 7, and made it so you can't even use version 6 and 7 at the same time. If you were lucky enough to keep version 5 around you usually have to use that, which works just fine. The same applies to some configurations of printing in 6 and 7. Complaints just get a "I can't hear you" reaction.
Why is this distinction between "flight departure" and "actual departure" significant?

Well the fact is that many (maybe even most) Mac users have little or NO use for ftp at all, and I'm pretty sure Apple knows this as it is their business to know it. "I would love to see someone from Apple saying with a straight face that all the iPods out there only carry "legally purchased music"..."
Why would they say something that isn't true, never has been, and has never intended to be?
Doing that would be an insult to the many developers of FTP clients for the Mac.
If the command line is too much hastle (as it is for many) then download a free client such as Cyberduck.

Boot Camp is still in beta testing and a new version of OS X is coming soon.
