The human race has improved on fire several times since its inception. For example: barbecue grills, acetylene torches, forges, etc. We've also improved the ways we make fire and the ways we extinguish fire.
Am I the only one whose mind went straight to the fruit of the loom guy dressed as an apple when reading the headline "samsung sues aussie patent office in apple suit?"
I'm sorry, but there aren't any prerequisites for blogging. I'm not sure where you got the expectation that things are "worth blogging about" but I've seen some pretty nonsensical drivel on blogs many times.
If I'm wrong, I lose nothing. If I'm right, you lose everything.
Actually, if you're wrong, you lose everything you spent working toward that religion during your mortal life. If an atheist is wrong -- well, that depend religion ended up being right. You could be right about there being a divine creator, but maybe you chose the wrong one, so now you go to their version of hell, anyway. In which case, you lose on both the mortal and post-mortal levels.
The difference is that following scientific method, once you find the answer of "what started the universe" you will naturally begin searching for what came before that, whereas in religion, you have to stop there, or else you end up in the recursive question: "Who created the creator?"
These clam-shell packages are useful for brick-and-mortar stores trying to prevent theft, however these same packages offer no benefit for online retailers. I understand that it's difficult for a company to set up different packaging lines based on whether their product is going to an online retailer or a brick-and-mortar retailer, but that's what I'd like to see happen nonetheless.
Which really are the best solution. Unless, of course, you just bought a pair of scissors and they are sealed in a plastic welded clam-shell themselves.
As a Christian who is also honest with himself about the way the world works, do you have as hard a time as I do reconciling with other Christians? I find there aren't a lot who will think analytically about the bible vs. the observable world the way you clearly do.
It's actually really interesting -- I know people who in general are very pragmatic and analytical, yet as soon as their investigation of a topic reaches the bible, they stop asking questions. It's like they are completely different people depending on whether the bible is involved or not.
Gee, you're winning people over to your side in droves with talk like that. It's a wonder the libertarian party hasn't done better lately with people like you!
I think you have a different definition of "Saving money" than I do. You're talking about a savings of 50% off the retail price, for example. I'm talking about putting all that money into a savings account, where it is not spend at all. Also often called a nest-egg or holding. Sitting under your mattress, not going to pay people for services or products.
Don't call me stupid just because you can't figure out what I'm saying.
That still implies that the US emits more, per capita, than China. What that means is that each individual (you) can have a much larger effect on climate change in the US than an individual in China can. It doesn't mean we can "save the world" on our own, but we can set an example. Isn't that what most Americans think our country should do? Set an example for the rest of the world? That is what several national polls seem to indicate.

It's the only way he can get a debate with someone of similar intelligence.
I would, but I'm not allowed to call them.

How did you just get off claiming that nobody except right-wingers pay taxes, and not get marked troll? What a ridiculous statement.
+1 SadButTrue. I've not had this happen to me personally, but I've seen it happen to very close friends a few times now. It's not pretty.
I'm not your pal, friend!
What's a Canana? A cross between a Carrot and a Banana? I want one...
I have the same sentiment!
Actually, I know several who have bothered to learn greek & hebrew and they actually go much farther into the "literal word" world.

Same here, neither Amazon nor iTunes seem to have anything from season 2 available.
Really? I didn't get that impression.

because IMO that makes for an entirely different story (and therefor a different expectation when following the link).
