That's strange, I buy far more gas/petrol than most people and yet my car is still a 4-door sedan. Could you please get your scientists to pay me to be their test subject?
the question there is whether the US federal government has lawful authority under the Constitution to order people to buy things
Well, the local government here forces me to pay for fire service. I wholeheartedly believe that paying for things like fire service and law enforcement should not be optional in this country, and likewise that *providing* fire and and law enforcement services should also not be optional.
Not only that, but this fire department refused to provide the service on any terms. It's not like they said "Ok, you pay all our expenses for this fire and we'll put it out." Nope, this guy's pets were killed by this fire, and if people had been trapped in that house, there is no indication that they would have been assisted either.
Same with health care. If a person goes into the hospital hemorrhaging from some kind of wound, the wound should be treated *first* and questions about money should come later.
In both cases we are talking about an emergency situation. Emergencies such as these should be handled before the topic of money is ever even mentioned.
Seriously, every time there's a story on/. about facebook or twitter someone just can't resist but point out that they don't use it or think it's worthless... Please can this retarded meme die now?
I agree, I had respect for McCain before he picked Palin, but after he picked her and the world found out who she was and what she's like, I simply couldn't even consider voting for him in good conscience. It's sad, really, but what's worse is that so many in the GOP seem to have followed her flamboyant, emotion-driven lead. That, and that so many people are gobbling it up... it scares me.
Ok, I'm sorry if I sound dumb here, but doesn't just about every mouse these days have a thumb button which defaults to "back" in most major browsers? I know I've had mice with that button for at least seven or eight years now, and I guess I just assumed they all had it by now.
Seriously, now I'm so used to that, that if I'm using the laptop touchpad or my 10 yr old trackball, it actually takes me a minute to remember how to go "back" without that button...
In fact, I can't think of a single UI button on the browser that I actually do use...
So then when one fails you get a half-sized pellet which is unlikely to produce the desired result... and you're stuck in basically the same place they are now?
You're still acting as if they knew the pellet gun might fail!
Well, having redundant systems is great but it comes at a cost, too. They would have needed additional power; everything would have weighed twice as much; cost more; changed the amount of thrust necessary not only in launch but in any maneuver. You could then say "Well you should double up at least on systems that are likely to fail!" but then I'd ask... well how do you expect to know before-hand what is likely to fail? Maybe they tested the "pellet gun" a hundred times here and it worked fine?

Really? Not even a simple google search?

Actually, the fact that you had to explain how reality has no bias really just shows that you have no sense of humor...
You mean like Google?
(S)ex, (T)exting & (D)rugs = STDs... Go figure?

Yes, of course. After all, Windows 7 was *my* idea...
People who don't have jobs?
I mean... In Soviet Russia, LinkedIn visits YOU
Yeah... that's it...

It reminds me of this article from The Onion...

Are we going to hear about this as if it's fresh news *every* time it happens?
You ship Jobs overseas and then you can never get them back!

"Mod Up" != "I agree"

For that matter, why not just send two probes?

Huh... that doesn't seem too apocalyptic to me.
Don't you have a search box on the top-right-hand of your browser? What's the point of *ever* going to google's front page in today's world, anyway?
Wait... The copyright expires in 2012?? Don't tell me it happens in December....
I love that this is tagged "Informative". WTG Mods :)
Mod parent up! Easy mistake to make.
Yeah, I think this is a classic case of a malamanteau.
...and then they had to tazer her again!
Guess they are concerned for Mohammed's privacy...?
