Les Paul actually invented the first true electric guitar. All the ones before it were simply acoustic guitars with mocrophones. If it weren't for Les Paul, rock and roll might possibly have never come about.
Are you referring to the prototype Les Paul presented to Gibson in the 1940s? That may have been considered the first "true" solid body electric guitar, but Gibson had been producing the acoustic/electric ES-150 since the 1930s. Fender beat Gibson to market with the Nocaster/Telecaster solid-body electric in the early 50s, so Gibson responded by contacting Les Paul and asking him to put his name on the very design they rejected a half-decade earlier.
I am reading an excellent book called Body by Science, by Dr. Doug McGruff and John Little. It picks apart traditional wisdom regarding "cardio" training, calories in vs. calories out, and a lot of other conventional wisdom. I would highly recommend watching Dr. McGruff's series of videos on YouTube as well.
Here he takes critical look at what exactly constitutes "health" and "fitness."

I did the same thing. I have been using my HDTV primarily for upsampled DVD content for the past year and a half. I have a Zenith DVB318, and the picture quality is amazing. I hear the OPPO is even better.
When I first bought the TV, I tried HD programming for about two weeks. I was disappointed in the lack of true HD content as well as the heavy compression that was being used on the SD channels. I called to cancel not only the HD package, but digital cable completely. I switched to the basic analog package. Imagine my fun trying to explain "compression" to the CSR. She finally got it when I told her I saw little squares around the edges.

There is a company called Adaptive Eyecare that came up with this a few years back: Universal Eyeglasses
Admittedly, the TruFocals look a bit cooler, what with not needing syringes taped to the sides of your glasses and all.

LEDs are especially well-suited for replacing standard MR16 halogen track lighting bulbs, where CFLs never really made significant inroads:

It may change quickly, but so far http://www.bolivariancomputers.com/ is not even registered.
"Thank the maker, this oil bath is going to feel so good."
Libertarians... come out with many studies, traditionally siding with... Libertarians?
How could this be?

Yeah, I think we are all still shocked by the tragic death of Frank Poole.
"I think I can get him before he gets there... he's almost in range."
"That's no satellite! It's a space suit!"
"It's too small to be a space suit."
"I have a very bad feeling about this."
To put it another way...
SIMPSONS DID IT!!!
When I first read this, I thought it was a new Windows worm.
