Amen to that. Debit cards are so much more dangerous then a credit card. ON a credit card at least you can cancel the card and dispute the charges. The only thing I ever use my debit card is for getting cash from an ATM machine (and shopping at the one major grocery store I know of that does take credit).
I am sill amazed that the basic ingredient in these things (aside from oodles and oodles of smarts) is something I used to eat everytime my parents took me to the beach when I was a baby.
Acutally it does.
However, even with the most virulant offender I have been able to keep computers spyware free by running a combination of scanners and blocker. The best part is they can be set up to do it automatically. I might spend 10 minutes a week on it, but not an hour.
I think it is going to be really hard to go after the people who are downloading. They are going it, but in the long run I don't think it will be sucessful. They societal norm has changed, whether that makes it right or not is a completely different matter, but times are rapidly changing and I think were are going to find laws on piracy being loosened.
Now I am not saying I think all downloading will be made legal, but I do think that things like sharing of TV episodes and audio books/ebooks will be illegal much longer.
You are so right. I don't know if you saw the article in Wired about PBNRs but I tried to talk to a friend of mine about these things (now granted he is an Enviro Studies major) but he went on and on about how nuclear will never be safe (of course he then started bashing wind becuase of how it could effect seed migration).
They just need to get in league with some programmers and switch voice overs. You know voice over the Winnie the Pooh game with GTA sounds and vice-versa. That would get peoples attention real fast.
They are making the PowerPC for the Xbox and the Cell for the new Playstation. It seems like they will be the real winner in the next round of game wars.
A cool that is what I was wondering. I remember diestincly when cassini was launched there was a big (well I don't know how big it really was), but there was a hullabaloo because NASA was launching a spacecraft with plutonium on board. Lots of people protested and camped out around Cape Canaveral. I am, however, still under the impression that it is not that uncommon for these deep space probes to contain radio active material on board.
Does any one know wha type of power source this thing contains. I know Cassini has a small reactor on board and is expected to last a very long time on that strength.
Ironically since it is a baseball company and they have very little to do during the winter I actually had the VP set me looking for a better vid card so he could play Counter Strike. Gaming is rampant during the off season
Yeah,
That would work until they went to Yahoo Games or some other site like that wich will popup and say You must have Internet Explorer 4.5 or better.
Then I get a call to come fix their games.
I work as a sysadmin and I recently sent out an e-mail about phishing just as a general warning. As I was walking around to the other offices one of my co-workers said she wished I had sent that out a week ago and that she had just recently been phished. I got htat from two other people in the course of my rounds (in an org of less than 50).
Now if only I could get my people to adopt firefox........ They could join in the battle rather than being duped.
This is interesting, but I won't hold my breath. There have been many things including bubble memory that were supposted to kill off the rotating storage medium..............

How about you read my psot first. The key words I used were blocking and automatic

And he doesn't use any of the wide number of free spyware prevention and automatic removal tools because?

Bittorrnt is a hydra-headed deal. THey will never be able to lop off enough heads to make a difference. Torrenters will just adapt.
Okay let me get the obligatory out of the way.........this all depends on what your definition of the word is is.
?Nope?

Hatrick!

That is still really cool because that is another thing I have been lloking into for a while now. Thanks for all the valuable tips.

The ones I have found have not seemed very good to me. Which one have you used? Because I am very open to recomendations.
