    You'd still have to pump them full of antibiotics. The environment they are in tends to be pretty bad due to trying to pack as many animals together as possible to increase profit by lowering costs.

    Doubtless having animals eat the kinds of food they should actually be eating would help the situation some, though, as it would remove some of the needs for antibiotics and artificial diet balancers.

    This applies to humans as well.

    Out of all the hardware that is controlled by software, I would have thought drone software would be the most scrutinized. Unbelievable. Even more reason why we should not arm robots (even remote human operated ones) with weapons such as Hellfire missiles.

    On the contrary, this is the reason why we should arm robots with BIGGER weapons! One's that it won't make a difference if you're off by 13 meters...

    Leave the weapon out altogether, just include a divide-by-zero error in the code!

    If you want serious, practically every human alive today is going to die. So the ones who go on very restrictive diets and lifestyles that they dislike just so that they last longer might be doing themselves a disservice. If they have a good reason for doing so, then go ahead, but if the only reason is just to last longer, that's a being silly.

    Pick your poison with your eyes open :).

    p.s. I've heard of doctors telling 90 year olds to stop smoking. If I were a doctor, I might say, "hey have you ever tried a good Cuban cigar, think you might like one?". Of course I'd probably get sued to oblivion by their relatives if they actually keel over after puffing a cigar.

    Agree 100%. That's why I choose to smoke--and if it protects against Alzheimer's, that's just a bonus. I do not enjoy McD meals as much though.

    Regularly super-sizing your McD meals can help prevent Alzheimer's. Heck it even reduces your chances of getting cancer.

    I'm being serious. Maybe one could use a nicotine patch instead. Here's another study: Beneficial effects of nicotine

    From the abstract:

    "When chronically taken, nicotine may result in: (1) positive reinforcement, (2) negative reinforcement, (3) reduction of body weight, (4) enhancement of performance, and protection against: (5) Parkinson's disease (6) Tourette's disease (7) Alzheimers disease, (8) ulcerative colitis and (9) sleep apnea. The reliability of these effects varies greatly but justifies the search for more therapeutic applications for this interesting compound.

    It may be completely irrational, but cancer looks much less scary in comparison.

    Many rating systems seem to assume transitive dominance structures. If you are playing rock/paper/scissors no rating would be sufficient to predict the outcome of a tournament. Many games (using Batttlenet, true skill..) propably are not interested in finding nontransitive structures since players want to be the best and fans want to know who is the best which is kind of pointless with r/p/s.

    In other words, styles make fights.
