The part about the Google phone giving you geographic-specific results..reminds me of an article here on/. a while ago that talked about future cell phones and how they would tell you these kinds of things..I can't find the link but I find this interesting.
If your product causes Cancer to people who use it without reading the instruction manual, or not as intended (for example, sniffing gasoline can cause Cancer. Can we sue the gas companies?) then yes, forget them.
TVs boot fast? HAH! My old CRT takes about 30 seconds to show anything, and my new HDTV takes about a minute to START fading in. It's pathetic, and it's so frustrating that often times i dont even feel like watching TV because it takes so long to turn on..that and there isn't much good on, anyway.
Except that when I remove the adapter and disable ndiswrapper, it still doesn't work. Oftentimes, HAL doesn't fix on resume and applications do not start and everything runs molasses slow..and this is when metacity is in use. With beryl, I come back to a black screen, 100% of the time.
Point in case: my experience with Fedora shows that hibernation/sleep is still not perfect. Especially with Beryl and/or a USB wi-fi adapter with ndiswrapper.
Anyone want to explain to me why uTorrent is considered better than Azureus? I have used both, and I much prefer Azureus.

I was pretty pleased with Fedora Core 2-4, felt like they were modern, without being bloated and slow like 8 & 9. FC5 was a real dog, though,
I agree wholeheartedly. I started using Fedora when FC3 came out and have used every version since, and 4 has to be my favorite. Five was buggy and bloated, and it annoyed me quite a bit (especially because my experience with Fedora community support has always been shitty) when things went wrong. I must say that FC6 is an improvement, however, although it is still to be seen if it will bump FC4 off the spot for favorite distro. I suggest you try FC6 and see if it's any better than your experience with FC5.
Weird name.
Anyway, I quite like it. It's streamlined, and most of the Ajax-y features are fast and useful.
However, I don't like having the images on the bottom of the screen. Maybe the top or left side? It makes them hard to notice. Also, I don't like being limited to only 10 entries (my Google preferences are set to show 100 entries per search) as it increases the amount of clicks I have to make. I guess it makes sense at this point, though, because otherwise the images would be way too far down. The Wikipedia entries are very nice but would be better if they weren't hidden by default. The "hide details" and clicking on green urls etc. features are very nice and handy.
The biggest gripe I have though is the fact that it looks like one of those advertisement search pages, probably because the text is small and at first glance the Feedback and Wikipedia entries look like ads.
Well, say what you will, but Mahir is an internet legend and a seemingly nice guy who's just being himself. His website does "suck" - that's whats funny about it- Mahir is basically an AOL user!
Will there always be a need to restart Firefox after an extension install/uninstall or theme change? I find this an annoying distraction, and while I know I can always save the session I would prefer to not have to. Trying out new themes takes much longer than it should.
Actually, you're right. I should have RTFA. I thought the discussion was about a virus.
I think you meant to say "AIDS". AIDS is not the plural of AID. AIDS stands for Auto-Immune Deficiency Syndrome. AIDS is singular.
Also, AIDS does not necessarily cause death. It just weakens your immune system ridiculously. Think of it like playing Halo without a shield, if such a thing was possible. People with AIDS have to be insanely cautious in order to simply stay alive, and to prevent spreading the virus to others, but it's entirely possible to live with AIDS.
Jeez, give me a break. I forgot to hold down the shift key for the last letter. I know what AIDS is. Anyway, I didn't say AIDS causes death, as you seem to have thought. I said it was linked to it. Weakening your immune system such that relatively common illnesses may cause death seems like a link to me.
Also, it's not that hard to avoid spreading AIDS to other people as long as you are informed. It's called abstinence, and plenty of people practice it.
Except that when doing that, the signature printed on the new contract isn't the original. It's not incredibly difficult to tell when a signature has been reprinted, especially on standard letter paper (generally the pen pushes the paper a bit on the other side, etc. etc.).
Because of propoganda. From a young age we are taught in school that MJ is bad for you, it's illegal, blah blah blahh. The majority of lemmings that don't do their own research believe it.

How is $30 a year not a subscription service?

There's always a bigger torrent.

Maybe they tried to symlink to the article...
One asteroid-poking administration should be enough for anyone. 1. Send man into space. 2. Poke asteroid. 3. ????? 4. PROFIT!
Neither. It's a feature!

Linux searches become porn searches
I read in the paper recently that Google hired a non-college graduate. If you think you are Googly enough, there is them. An internship, probably.

I think you mean extension. However, this is a genius idea. Someone needs to make this..
How is this new? Any attack worth its salt disables the firewall first thing. Saying this is news is like telling people AIDs is linked to death.
