I see the pros and cons of the DNA as well as the fingerprinting. Being in the tech sector, I can respect just to what level it can be abused.

I was refering to the statement that Domint made, "If the bits get fubar'ed on one drive, that will propagate across the rest - leaving you with no data" which only applies to mirroring.

MPEG4 (aka DivX/Xvid) has not always been there either. I remember the early days when everyone clamored for mpg or qt format over DivX as they didn't need the codecs.

With DivX's "support" of H.264 and MKV, how long do you think it will be before the set-top boxes and the portables start coming out with support for that. Not too long if I don't miss my guess.

Especially with the move to more "legal" online content, I think there will be less resistance, not to mention more support, for a higher quality option.

Also, he did not say Linux, he said a *nix based system. Which, until NT, most systems in such entities were.

*nix based systems are not invulnerable, but it takes a lot more than a script-kiddie with a script generator to penetrate and subvert than in *nix based systems.

But, regardless of your OS predilection, you should be able to admit that Windows based systems have an extremely higher rate of penetration and subversion.

As a former Windows support tech, I feel I earned my right to hate windows and the company from which it was spawned. It has gotten better, but I also know that there are security holes that have been dismissed and bugs that have been blatantly ignored. The perception, on my part as well as others that I know, is that MS is counting on the sheep to write off errors, BSODs and the like to user error.

I have used M$, Micro$oft, Windoze and Winblows. I know it seems childish, but sometimes it is a great way to blow off some steam, especially in one line posts that are not meant to be prophetic or informative, but instead exist solely to express your disdain with the company and or product. I am a Linux user. I use Linux exclusively at home. I think that many Windows users could successfully, and happily, convert to Linux. However, I do realize and freely admit that there is a place in this world for Windows. It is just, in my humble opinion, not a big a place as Microsoft and the Windows fanboys think it is. (Note: Fanboi is not a real word. If you want to post a diatribe against someone for their use of cultural nomenclature, perhaps the sound decision should be to not use it in your post.)

OS X is built on a BSD foundation. One would think that there would be a natural transition to GNU/Linux porting of the Adobe apps. It'd be a win/win situation.
