  1. Re:Teaching is not a good way to pull down a paych on When Teachers Are Obstacles To Linux In Education · · Score: 1

The pay really sucks. Frankly you'd probably be better off managing a fast food restaurant.

If you put up with the crappy pay and the stifling bureaucracy, then you're probably not doing it for your own selfish purposes, but rather because you feel that it's the right thing to do. Which means that you are genuinely interested in teaching people.

How much can you earn managing a fast food restaurant? Is it more then 40k a year? A teachers pay puts them in the top 50% of wage earners. Not great money but the pay DOES NOT SUCK. And the bureaucracy tends to drive out people with options, talents, youth, and abilities. People interested in teaching will eventually be driven out like everyone else unless they have no better options.

JFK, moon landing, 9/11, Paul is dead ....

So to you who utterly proclaim she is alive in Russia with her kids, why don't you hire a detective to put the kids or her mother under surveillance? She will show up, maybe she is already there. I know it would be expensive but if enough of you chip in it wouldn't be that bad. And if you TRULY believe he is innocent don't you have a moral requirement to at least chip in $50 or $100 to help out?

Is it possible that Hans' lawyers already did this and came up empty? I don't know, but that might have been money well spent by the defense. Or maybe the lawyers declined to waste the money this way since they believed this theory was a load of crap.

My conscience is clear, I think he is guilty as hell but those of you who are wringing your hands, perhaps put you could put together a "Free Hans" foundation investigate the location of the wife. First step would be for some TRUE BELIEVERS to step up and look at everything in the court transcripts and post it online, highlight interesting/important parts and post it online. Lawmakers are also not sure how much the tax would generate.

Why would a lawmaker need to know that? Next you'll be asking programmers to know which language they are going to use for their project.

Erpenbach said at this point, he's not sure how much it would cost to move non-violent 17-year-olds to the juvenile system. Of course he doesn't know. He didn't know how much the taxes would raise why would know how much money is needed?

Of course this presumes the reason why things are on many servers is mainly technical restrictions as opposed to content creation reasons. Maybe Eve works as 1 world is because you only need a map maker; it is the players that create the content, meaning drama. A mainly PvE game would require lots and lots very carefully crafted content to make sure everyone has enough room to spread out but still group up. It is easy to create enough content for 25,000 people is easier then for 200,000; unless the other people are the content.

Hate to tell you but G4 is gotten rid of most of its gaming roots. The survivers from before the merger are X-Play and Attack of the Show ( which really isn't a surver but what "The Screen Saver" mutated into). The CEO in charge of the merger was fired because ratings are horrible and new management brought in to clean up the mess. The new management has no intrest in reviving any TechTV or game based format. No one is intrested in a format that will get eyes away from the format, ( in plain english TV competes with console games, you can do only one at a time. If the TV tells you to play games you have to stop watching TV.) It is NOT like watching a show about movies because those are review shows in which you watch TV to help you decied what movie to see. At that point you have already decided to watch a movie but are using TV to help decide which one, so TV tries to recapture you for 1/2 hour of reviews. X-Play might survive because of this. They aren't tell you to playing games so much as telling you which games to play. There is nothing in X-Play to get one excited to play games, but watching footage of people playing will get you excited, you will turn on the XBox/PS2/GC/360 and play. You will also be no longer watching TV and thus they will have LOST viewers, not gained. Losing views means losing advertisers, which means NO MONEY. Face it, Gaming TV is DEAD!
