It goes to show that the only sure protection is a healthy dose of technological elitism. If you are using a program the plebs aren't then you will be safer from the net nasties!
Stole? He sold you a product. You can begrudge the fact that you feel you need it if you like, but he didn't steal anything from you. I suppose the electricity companies that sell you the power that runs your computer are stealing from you as well?
Ironically, people making a point rubbishing the claims by various media groups that illegal duplication is stealing get modded as insightful as well.
Australia used fully open source voting machines with a paper trail - electronic voting entirely transparent and accountable to the voters.
I'm Australian, and every election I have voted in has been the traditional paper method. I think I might be confused with someone else.
The game which had the most chance of being called a truly next gen title has been delayed somewhat, by that I mean The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. It takes advantage of the multi-core architecture and the graphics could truly be called next-gen IMHO. And that is without going into detail about the new Radiant AI system.
I have no problem with it being delayed, they want the game to be up to the standard they are happy with and good on them for not releasing a buggy title (this time)
I do have a problem with the way they have handled their PR. Any thread talking about the release date gets locked on their forums, and they continually point to their FAQ which has about 12 questions in it, is hardly updated, and only lists the release date as "Holidays 2005", with an explanation that unless it is posted on the Bethesda site it isn't official.
Now their publishing partner has blown the lid off it and they have stopped locking the threads, seeming to be a de-facto admission that maybe this information that isn't on their site is correct. However since then the silence has been deafening, several Bethesda employees have been lurking the boards without saying a word, and just letting the endless speculation continue with no official word.
Schrodingers Blue Screen of Death and not Death?

I'd say the delaying of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion could have had some effect as well.

It's from Draenor, but its not the Draenei...
Freedom Sharing?
Does this mean I can run 3D Pipes as an OS?
"Mommy mommy, a goldfish left a lincoln log in me sock drawer!!"
"That's the story of Jesus..."
Windows? Secure? Something about pigs and air travel or something... *trails off unintelligably*
...
Can I have mod points now?
Different standards are nothing new though... VHS vs Betamax? HD-DVD vs Blu-ray?

Using "FUCKING IDIOT" in caps on a mailing list is fairly childish behaviour, I think.
/. reaction would be if someone else did that, say Steve Ballmer for instance.
It does make me wonder what the
$50B difference is huge, this goes to show nobody knows what's going on.
;)
Or maybe the $25B is the actual cost, and the $75B is if they out-source it to Halliburton contractors
Also, by making Jackson an EP, they can slap Wingnut films on it (his banner) and give it instant credibility.
;)
So does it also retrospectively do the same thing for "Meet the Feebles"?
Well just point out to her that they haven't discovered an intelligence gene in females yet ;)
...use a program that uses that uppy-downy writing for its name, it shits me no end.

I thought this was going to be about the Alex Cox film of the same name being remastered or something.

I would have thought this is bigger news being that it is reported to be possible on Linux as well as M$
Oh wait, I forgot I was on
The best part of that segment was when Adam picks up a piece of smoking scrap metal and says "Well, theres your problem right there"
Actually, an intelligent designer from Blizzard pushed him out the window.
I just type in IDSPISPOPD then walk through the customer support system's walls.
... these are not the droids I was looking for!!
One of their points is that the 360 won't play the forthcoming 50 Cent game... I don't know about you guys but thats making me want to buy one.

Not smart PR IMO.
