I can't believe he answered my question. But seriously, thanks again Sid, you have changed the way we play video games forever. Surely without you, someone else equally as brilliant would have come along. But in the end, what counts is that you were there, and YOU siezed the moment. Thanks.

I don't see a corrolation between the Heisenburg uncertainty princible and e-mail. Sure both have uncertain qualities, but one is concerning electron orbitals and the other communication. That's a dumb comparison if i've ever seen one. But for the whole e-mail is the devil argument, what exactly is the difference between answering a phone, e-mailing or IM'ing someone? I can't understand the mentality of people that think that the internet makes us less productive. The average telephone call takes much longer than answering and reading e-mails. Sure the internet has distractions. But so does everything else!

  6. Well... on Is There a Future for Indie Games? · · Score: 3, Insightful

Considering most "gamers" today don't know the difference (and probably don't care), who makes the games they play, I think it all comes down to how indie games compare to big corporate games. If the games are fun to play, people will buy them, period. I doubt anyone really cares who made the game. For example, I wouldn't see a movie just because it was made by universal studios, I simply would see it because it was entertaining.

So with all this technology they keep adding to things, first cars, beer mugs, and now doors, who is to way that my house wont get a hypothetical BSOD, and lock me out when I need to get in, or accidentally opening the doors when I'm on a vacation? Not to say that these things are entirely likey, but we all know that cars with micro processors that control important functions fail from time to time. I think we're trying to fix problems that aren't there. As one posted said, keys that unlock doors work fine. I can understand using this technology for handicapped people, but that's when the avantages end.

  12. Re:Is it just me... on The Nintendo Conference In-Depth · · Score: 1

I actually am not going to buy a PSP. I was just saying that Nintendo,(in my opinion), is stretching the GBA too far. Why have a micro device? Are there really any redeemable qualities? Of course it's smaller than the GBA sp, but other than that it's the same. I am not saying they should get rid of the GBA, but rather keep the same hardware. Again, I really don't understand why Nintendo keeps releasing slighty different versions. It fills the same space as far as portable gaming is concerned.

  13. Personally... on Which is Better, Firefox or Opera? · · Score: 1

I use Mozilla Firefox every day... I am just a huge fan, to me it has no BS, it's just plain and simple, and pretty darn fast. I've been happier with it now that it displays literally all web pages correctly, and even though it crashes sometimes on my Windows 2k machine, it doesn't bother me much. I prefer it because it is a free replacement for IE6, and far far better. I mean, not to bash Microsoft, (we all know how fun that can be), but honestly in my opinion IE sucks in comparision. Not only a lack in features compared to Firefox, but it looks and feels like crap. Personally, I have never used Opera myself (even though there is a free trial version). I don't see a reason why, because I enjoy Firefox so much. And I pay enough to my ISP, that I don't see me purchasing a internet browser in the future. Also it says in the review: "The differing Opera shortcuts and menus are not difficult to learn, but they may be a stumbling block for users beginning with Opera or going back and forth between Opera and another browser." I would rather get used to the quote-on-quote basic and most used menu system for my browser, because when you are working cross-platform it obviously is much easier to get used to the same menus (which also is good for business because of a productivity gain). Again, my two cents (:

  14. Is it just me... on The Nintendo Conference In-Depth · · Score: 3, Interesting

I believe that Nintendo is overstretching the life of the Gameboy. I mean, not to be a troll, but changing the configuration of a handheld doesn't extend its life, what does is making it more powerful. Does Nintendo think many people with an original Gameboy Advanced is likely to purchase a GBA sp, or a Gameboy mirco? I just don't see, now with the new consoles on the horizon, that there is a need for the Gameboy in its current state, especially due to the DS. Just my two cents.
