    I have the same result as sjaskow, I don't even get Firefox 3.6.3's new dialog to add an exception. If I try to add an exception manually, Firefox can't find a certificate on Slashdot's server.

    When you try https://slashdot.org/, does your browser stay there or revert back to http? If the former, what browser are you using? IE8 fails here too.

    See what I'm talking about? "-1 Flamebait" for endorsing widespread encryption: security and freedom in the same package. If Slashdot had a even a free, self-signed certificate, my post wouldn't have been sniffed and censored while being routed through *.gov.cn.

    If you click the site's icon in the URL bar, you should be led to a dialog that allows you to add an exception (to accept that particular certificate then and thereafter).

    Another method: Tools > Options > Advanced > Encryption > View Certificates > Servers > Add Exception...

    I'm using Firefox 3.6.3; YMMV.

    WA[A]S signals get used mostly by air and maritime vehicles in the North America.

    WAAS and EGNOS are used by every GPS receiver manufactured by Garmin in the past few years, unless the user manually disables it. Since OEMs like Garmin use chips from the same few GPS chip manufacturers, it's likely that most or all recently manufactured receivers incorporate WAAS and EGNOS.

    FYI:
    WAAS = Wide Area Augmentation System
    EGNOS = European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System

    For example, how many of you see a movie adaptation of a book only to have them cast an actor that looks nothing like you imagined it?

    I've had a book do this to it's own earlier chapters. My father read me Hitchhiker's Guide when I was little. If I remember correctly, partway through the book, all of the sudden Arthur has a beard (with a bone in it)! The bone was inconsequential, but the sudden beard was an inconvenient disturbance.
