... in the Sonic the Hedgehog costume stopped coming, it just wasn't the same. But since he still attends Tokyo Game Show it explains where the future is.
Yes, fortunately you don't have to invite a bunch of idiots to your table in order to get a D&D game going (although in my experience, the complexity of the game never kept the idiots out anyway). Given most of the D&D brigade I knew are stoners, simplifying things is a huge bonus.
Semantics.
So he justifies to himself not handing the video over to authorities because they think it's a different crime than he thinks it actually is?
Surely the video would help clear up that it's NOT terrorism.
I don't see how an individual thinks he should decide on what should be done. Follow the proper procedures and have some faith in the legal system.
In each case you're comparing assisting a democratically elected governments police force with assisting an invading force or dictatorship. Sorry, doesn't work.
You pick your side and assist them which is fine, but why go against democracy?
It's not a source if you're taking video footage of someone. Video footage is primary information, one that has come directly from you.
Asking someone a question about an event is secondary information.
There are laws protecting journalists being forced to give up their sources, but this was not a case of that, since by how I understand it, he took the video himself.
Don't withold information from a police investigation.
The problem here is that individuals believe they are above the law and are doing it in the interests of the common man. A lot of people are willing to use the system so long as it works for them, then soon as something happens that places them in trouble, all of a sudden the system is a flawed, err, system that shouldn't be pandered to.
The truth of the situation is if you know information concerning a crime that has been committed, it is in your interest to speak up, especially if you are a "journalist". We have some darn strange journalists who don't seem to realise they are meant to report the truth.
I don't understand the mentality of someone willing to do time for a crime someone else committed, feels very mafia like to me, and we don't want a return to those days...
This was the point I was going to make, glad you said it.
Warcraft is not about skill, sure there is some, but if you're better geared then obviously you go into it with an advantage. Likewise if you're a warlock vs a paladin, etc.
Other games involve 2 players with exactly the same gear and specced character fighting each other to determine who is best. This is proper competitive game play. People will not want to watch Warcraft battles as there will not be a fair fight anywhere to be seen. One team will ALWAYS go into a fight with an upperhand to start with, even if it's just what character class they all picked...
The main difference I see in your argument (not that I think it isn't a good one) is that people in the case of the Columbine game are arguing for it's removal as the game is promoting morally wrong ideas. That you get rewarded for mowing down innocents. In the case of war, the argument can be made that it is morally correct to try and overthrow Nazi's. Of course this argument falls down now that there are so many games out that allow you to play both sides, but war has featured in a lot of media over the past 100 years, whether it be TV, games, radio or film. The same can't be said for a good old fashioned rampage.
None of which involve right clicking....
So that leaves what? Minesweeper? Nope, right clicking in that...
Hmmm...
I guess you only need 1 button to play whack-a-mole.
Ahh the irony of taking the servers down to install a patch so that the servers won't come down.:)
I think we will see a lot more emergency fixing. I have 5 lvl 60 chars and my frost spec'd mage seems to get problems with the elemental he summons. The elemental refuses to attack until you manually make it fire a frost bolt off at a monster. Just clicking the agressive button and "pet attack" (special action 1 usually) does not make it enter combat, but it's fine if you make it use frost nova on the mob first.
Of course it could just be the fact that i'm not that smart. Who can tell.
Turns out every cloud does have a silver lining. WoW recently proudly announced over 100,000 account banned worldwide but I don't see this as being very relevant as most of these were surely 10 day trial accounts just used for spamming the various gold sites.
I will neither confirm nor deny these rumours.....

Well Sir, then you leave us no choice but to Google for the answer!
Personally, being someone who sucks at most games, I don't like the idea that should I get stuck on a section in the game, my enjoyment for the game stops right there. Atleast if I can go off and do other things instead I can carry on getting enjoyment from it.
It's a fine game, although it is restricted by being linear, atleast in comparison to Oblivion. Hell, real life appears linear when compared with Oblivion:-)
Nintendo often get slated for "falling back on Mario" to sell their games. Maybe they have so much faith in their own title this time they want a pure game to sell on playability alone. It will also help them more accurately see the potential player base. Many mature gamers will not buy something aimed at 'kids' and trust me, the over 50's will want a Wii!
The thing about Zelda is, whilst it is a wonderful game, that is more to do with the controller than the game. Giving it an award for best game would be unfair as there are many other Wii games yet to come out that will probably share the enjoyment of using the Wii remote. Part of Zelda's high score is down to the uniqueness of the gaming experience due to it being a new system.
Oblivion just reeked of attention to detail that I personally have not seen before in a 1 player game.
Any article that gives Sony the WORST CONSOLE LAUNCH award is sure to be popular with the Slashdotters.
What I can't understand about Sony, is who exactly they are trying to sell their products to... Nintendo clearly did their market research with the Wii and it shows due to getting an award.
Sony need to backpedal and allow games released on their system to be compatible for playing online against people with the 360 and Wii versions of the game. This is why the gamers hate Sony, Sony refuse to do stuff that's fun for the gamers....
(Although an argument can be made for having your arm drop off after 30 minutes of Wii tennis to also not be fun)
Slight flaw in your argument that nobody actually pays for CounterStrike. It's a free mod that is given out to people who buy Half Life 2. So yeah, they can change something you haven't ever paid for....
The correct answer to any "What is the point" question is always "Because they can". Just like the idiots who insist on being the first to post to any new thread, others also crave "being the first" no matter how pointless, insignificant or downright rude it is. It will take a much smarter person than me to work out why they do it (maybe they actually want a job in internet security!)
The grue has also been the subject of many a ballad such as this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nigRT2KmCE
... in the Sonic the Hedgehog costume stopped coming, it just wasn't the same. But since he still attends Tokyo Game Show it explains where the future is.
It's only the griefers causing the grief :-)
Eve could charge more, but they know nobody would pay more. Being cheap isn't something to brag about...

Aye, and the only reason i'm posting to this thread right now is the servers have just come down in Europe for 6 hours! :)

Maybe they should write about how they did it in their blog, I mean someone elses blog.....
