Part of that response it thought to involve the nucleus accumbens, thought to play an important part in the reward pathway. It's also closely tied to the basal ganglia and the amygdala (part of the 'emotional' brain).
True.
And if you think about it, it's really nothing more than a smart long term investment. If they are looking toward the future, they are simply adding to their potential employee candidate pool. (Not to mention that math and science students might be influenced by the IBM background of their teacher/professor.)

This 'leak' has produced a fanbase before this show has any possibility of airing, in effect creating a market for it (not to mention its being posterd on/.) This has the potential to generate WB a small fortune on a project they would have otherwise scrapped; and all they ccan do is complain about how it was a theft of intelectual property. If I remember correctly, once you throw something out, its fair game;)
Maybe a simple solution would be to have embedded bio-identification systems. Devices like a small fingerprint scanner could be used in order to power up a head unit in a car or as the start button on a microwave...
It seems the other weak area is where this information is being stored after the transaction has taken place. This is becoming more of an issue as exemplified by the recent MC data loss, Bank of America customer data loss, and Citibanks comprimised accounts - all within the last 2 months or so.
Personally, I don't see the point of paying for something like CNN. Paid content should be original enough to warrant the cost. Paying for news feed(to me)seems a waste of money. News is news, and it is possible to view it on any number of countless other sites, sans video. However, some content I would be willing to pay for. Channels such as TLC and Discovery have shows I wouldn't mind paying a subscriber fee in order to view at my lesiure. For example, I would much rather pay for unlimited access to Modern Marvels or Mythbuster than I would to buy DVDs at 29.95 a pop.
you could get both the next gen systems from Sony and MS. It seems to me that PC gaming is falling more by the wayside with every new video card release...
It would be interesting to see if this process can be specifically tailored to other pathologies. Perhaps an application could be to deliver drugs that are specific for attacking HIV infected cells to attack the virus more directly?
Ballmer, ;)
Is that you?

They did..Pirates of Silicon Valley
Honestly,
One of the funniest things I've ever read on Slashdot (~2yrs). So damn true...

Unless these adds would feature some sort of privacy policy. I definitely don't need my information being sold any more than it already is.
do they have any problems with the employees in sector 7G?
Exactly...now if only someone would use this system to re-release Zork, life would be good.
Forty-two.
Lets not forget #3 - good 'ol tobacco!

I check my hotmail acct once a week or so...always junk mail. Needless to say I won't be sorry to see it go.

..no headlines on how Slashdot is now solely responsible for generating tech revenue?
How long before Apple drops x86 and moves to QC architecture?
