  1. That was my point!!!! on Dvorak on Our Modern World · · Score: 1
Someone from the 20s would probably be more surprised that we're still using gasoline-powered engines and cars which really aren't that different from those 85 years ago, instead of cars that fly.

Yeesh... I need to write better because that is exactly what I am trying to say. Diesel, electric, gasoline, biodiesel, and bioplastics are not new technologies. They all date back to when cars were first starting to be introduced.
  2. No not really. on Dvorak on Our Modern World · · Score: 1

I honestly don't think technology has changed all that significantly in the past years. Change has been basically incremental in our modern society. Take someone from the 1920's and he would point out that a car is a horseless carriage.

  3. EMP bomb=Really idiotic idea on Another Robotic Vehicle to Help Soldiers · · Score: 1

Does anyone tend to think before posting ideas? An EMP device will set the bomb off not stop it from igniting. The whole concept of an EMP device is to disable the electronics by inducing a massive current. Massive currents will still set the bomb off. Also, what if the stupid thing is inside a faraday cage (read car). The Emp device is useless. Not to mention not all bombs use fancy electronics which can be fried. I doubt the level of technology some of these terrorists use is applicable to being able to be blown up by an EMP device.

  4. Exploding water on Bellagio Fountains Recreated with Mentos and Coke · · Score: 1

Is this the same concept behind the explosions that the Mythbusters created in a microwave with water. I know that the water was resulted from super clean glass that is free of defect. Introducing an object will immediately cause the gas to bubble and make it explode.

  5. Bahhhh.. They forgot the Disney Concert Hall on Stupid Engineering Mistakes · · Score: 4, Funny

Yeesh... Someone all ready posted a better and more detailed description of the lake. Anyway here is another engineering disaster. The Disney Opera House in California. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Concert_Hall It was a really nice building. Very ornate and very shiny and cool looking. The problem is that they designed and built Archimedes Death Ray. Certain parts of the building were curved that they were cooking the inside of people's apartments, melting trafic cones, blinding drivers, and setting stuff on fire. The solution was just to sandblast the offending objects but yeesh.

  6. Bahhh... They forgot to mention the lake draining on Stupid Engineering Mistakes · · Score: 1

I remember watching an episode of Modern Maverls aptly named engineering disasters. Well the funniest one had to be the disaster where a bunch of oil riggers managed to drain an entire lake into a mine. The drilled right through the mine shaft because of a bad map and the whole entire lake and part of the land surrounding it went into the mine. Fortunately, no one died but yeesh... I didn't think such a thing could happen.

Sounds to me like you didn't find a decent dojo. When I played Judo as a kid, it was all about sportsmanship. If our Sensei though you were getting hot under the collar, or getting too aggressive, he stopped the randori and you sat on edge of the mat until you had yourself under control again. When I practiced Aikido many years later, it was all about learning to move as smoothly and easily as possible, whether you were uke or nage.

Hey.. It was bad grammar. I like the Martial Arts. I was referring to the people just randomly beating the crap out of each other. PS. I like Akido. I have practiced Akido in Jui-Jitsu. I seriously suck at the flowing and moving smoothly but it certainly is a very nice form of martial arts.

You think martial arts are pathetic or this example of people in a "fight club" is pathetic, as martial arts aren't pathetic they are a good way to keep fit, train your mind and perhaps provide a viable means of self defence in a street attack.
Who me? I like the martial arts and I took it for a while. I meant just the sensless fighting. You might as well do tournaments and become proficient at a martial art that useful/cool/interesting/neat. PS. I only chose Kendo because it's the only martial arts that I know uses a stick. Please forgive my ignorance.

Taekwondo- Laugh at people as you kick the living crap out of them. Wrestling- Laugh as you drop people on their head. Jui-Jitsu- Laugh as you break limbs. Judo- Laugh as you start throwing people over your hip. Kendo- Laugh as you teach those idiots in the article about how to use those sticks. I hate this type of post because it's pointless. Of course many people consider WOW the worst because it's very popular. Every single person is unique and to make a game that appeals to everyone is impossible. What one person might find fun another might hate. What you find boring another finds interesting. There is nothing wrong with that and that is why there are so many genres of games.
