I just sat my IB English exam, and I wrote an essay about how the youth culture is largely affected by the media (used loosely, means RIAA and pretty much everything else). I concluded that the media does largely affect 'our' culture, and that many people don't like it; it's all amount money and companies such as the RIAA are hindering college students from becoming valuable members of society, and stifling their creativity really doesn't help either. I really hope that some of those college students protest, even if just a little bit, I know I will when I get to college.
Its not surprise that until recently the wikipedia article for "Riaa" redirected to "political corruption" instead of to the "Recording Industry Association of America" article.
I mean.... Woof Woof.... Bark Bark *does shifty eye movement*
Yeah, I get what you're typing though, Kids are scary, even myself, being a little toddler and all, I notice that there are little 13-15 year olds roaming the internet with their "RLY IMPORTANTXOR POSTS LOLS". Some people just don't know that the caps lock key is also the uncaps lock key. I have multiple persona, this one, another one, and.... yet another one. Also I'm almost 18 (I hear you shaking your head... "So what? That's still nowhere near 21")
What I say in this persona (and the other, really safe one) is safe, as in it's nothing incriminating that could prevent me from being allowed access to a university... Not that I am involved in any activities that could make that a threat, but Its being safe.
Being known as a teenager is kind of annoying, on another website, a 21 year old insulted me, at which point I insult his musical preference, and he said "No, your musical taste is sucks, youre just a little kid". His musical taste was somewhere along the lines of a miss Britney Spears...
puh... close one, I was born in 1989...
but seriously, a lot of my friends at school are pretty stuck in this social networking thing. One girl at school even flew to aberdeen to date someone she met over myspace... I am so glad I hate myspace... After reading a book called "crypto" by Steven Levy, and reading about Diffie and Zimmerman made me realize how precious privacy really is.
I am not as private as I could be, I gave my website URL to slashdot, and on my website I have my real name somewhere, and on other websites I am not nearly as private as I should be, but I am not telling every schmoe out on the internet what I did last weekend.
Robots don't need rights, they are not sentient.
When humans react to something, there are physical and mental reactions. take being sad for instance, we get same, thats the mental reaction, and we cry thats the physical one. We can program a robot to cry, making it look as if it has feelings, but it really doesnt. When a robot reacts, it will be purely physical, no mental reaction will occur. It does not have a mind of its own, its appearance may trick us, but even though it is smiling, its not really happy.
we can build robots to learn, we can build them to walk we can build them to talk, we can make them do all of those together for all I care! We can not build a robot that feels. It would be a simple value to the computer, a one or a two, not a complex system that actually thinks. Robots will never be capable of 'thinking' at the same level as a human. It is artificial.
Lets put it this way, there are cars that can drive and park for us. at least after the next darpa challenge we will. We won't see any of those sitting in court, if they kill something they go to the trash can. It's the same with robots.
If I'm told that it will help me, then I will take it...
I used what I learned in computer science to help me do my IB HL mathematics coursework last year.
So now they are excited because they can see evolution happening? They should return it to the sea. The evolutionary chain will end if they put it into captivity!
Ofcourse it depends on the person, the person can not be a bad person at heart, but I'm all for hiring people with experience. Especially if I were a security company, I would opt for people who have worked in the field, and understand the workings of a criminal mind.
