The one episode where galactica came down to the planet and saved everyone...and the very last episode of the season. If any of the writers read this, bring back the action packed drama of space flight. Make an intense last stand with the cylons and humans. Don't make a happy ending where everyone gets along with each other. Nearing the end of the season start killing off main characters left and right. And for the love of god don't do what Stargate SG1 or Sopranos did or is doing...which is put filler episodes in the last season. SG1 ended their season halfway and the last half of the show was crap. The whole last season of Sopranos is crap and is just filler episodes. Make this the most epic season of all time for any sci-fi show. Otherwise you end up just pissing away a great series and pissing off a lot of people.

Bandwidth- If this sucks so much bandwidth....doesn't that tell you, you need an upgrade. This goes back to how we have shitty internet here in America. Our broadband is terrible and needs to be updated. Telecoms don't want to update their backbone because they don't need to. They have the power to do whatever they want. It is just like gas prices. Consumers can complain about it all they want but that still doesn't change the fact that they still need gas. We still need the internet because it is now a part of our culture. My point is that the telecoms have to reduce the prices or set better network backbones to compensate what the public wants/needs.
Legal issues- Just because you p2p doesn't mean it isn't legal filesharing. I probably can guess that most of the files are illegal but now-a-days people decide what is legal and what isn't not the DMCA or what the RIAA is. Either way, this is stupid that the college is doing this because there are legal files to download. What about game updates (WoW) that uses p2p?
I really wonder if people understand that p2p is one of the best sources for knowledge. You can find everything about anything through torrenting. It isn't just about legal and money issues now, it is about the right to enjoy entertainment, art, books, software, and uh everything. 90% of what I have downloaded has been stuff that I wouldn't have known about. Stuff I would not have either paid for to begin with or don't have time to go see or listen to. Not only that but I am not going to start paying for stuff that I already own... I bought a Harry Potter collection at one point a few years ago and I haven't picked it up since, but I downloaded ebooks of it because I like reading off my computer and not reading from the books. A 1080p dlp projector with 1080p can definately get you imax quality if not better. Not too mention the variety of VR headsets that are out there right now. Granted they don't display 1080p but for a reasonable price you can get something that displays 1024x768 resolution which is freakin huge considering the screen is like an inch or two from your eyes.

I live in LA and have gone to the best digital theaters here. So please check your ignorance at the door. Start learning your resolutions.
Not too mention that 1080p content is pretty much the best you are going to get for TV sets and projectors. Your eye can't really make any difference beyond 1920x1800. It becomes a scaling issue. The only reason why you would have a high res. picture would be to enlarge a picture to a jumbotron size screen. In movie theaters you will probably see a small difference at higher res but not enough to say its totally amazing. We have hit the mark of what 2D images look like on a 2d surface. That is why HD content will last a very long time (20+ years) until we figure out how to manipulate light and create hologram type of media.

CDs have had their time and place. It is time for them to move on. As the internet grows and bandwidth becomes bigger, better and available to more people...you will find that cds lose value. Any physical media like discs (not HDDs)will lose value. Why the hell am I going to try to back up my media or documents on a CD or even a DVD or EVEN a HDDVD. Discs are good but not as good as something like flash memory on a stick or wireless connections. I don't see corporations backing their media up on CDs, DVDs, or HD-DVDs. There is no way a CD should cost more than it does. It is just technology and anyone who knows technology knows and understands that the older things get the cheaper they get because something better comes out. RIAA has extremely flawed logic and again I think they are dropping acid.
If CDs weren't so cheap right now, how many new technologies or discoveries would there have been. People often forget how important data rentention and data sharing is. I wonder how many doctors, scientists, teachers, lawyers, law makers, etc. all have burned a CD and how many of them actually used it for their professions. I am sure the number is quite high and it goes to show you how one technology could save the world or advance humanity.
The fact that it this stuff is given to society at a low price is amazing and should stay that way. Ofcourse, any new technology ends up costing a lot in the beginning for many reasons like to recover the costs of R&D with the product and sometimes just to make the most amount of money. Eventually those prices drop and not go up. We know that something better will come along.

This is true for a lot of things. But in this case most likely not. The head top guys who created the copyprotection and encryption for HDDVD and BLURAY my guess had months to years to come up with this scheme. This guy got around HDDVD in 8 days and alittle less than a month for bluray (well not exactly sure how long he spent on bluray, I am just estimating the time he announced the HDDVD work around till todays news).

I rarely ever see someone use mosaic filter applied to something like a check or a credit card. I am sure it happens but it is pretty rare. Also if someone really likes the mosaic effect but thinks someone really wants to spend time trying to deal with it...then you can always use the smudge tool in and sweep it across the numbers before applying the mosaic effect or even after the effect. There is no way anyone will read that. Or you could just completely black it out which would be the optimal choice. Not too mention you could mosaic a mosaic to give you a different set of values which makes the so called "script" invalid.

RIAA you worthless bunch of monkey retards. Just give up. You aren't going to win this. How about spending money on making better albums? How about spend money on advertising your artist? The only way you guys are going to get any huge amount of money is start suing major websites or companies like apple for everything and anything. Eventually you will get a judge that is not tech savy and then you will win, but that only goes so far. The reason why your sales have fallen so much is because your PR campaign against your OWN buyers. Music is just entertainment. I can live with out the next hiphop bullshit album that comes out but you can't live with out your money. Consumers have a lot more power and you will lose. Take a hint and stop annoying your customer base. It goes with the saying, treat your employees right, then you get treated right.

Where are the muscians in all of this nonsense? I think the musicians should speak for the industry and not corporate asstards whose only job is to make money. The funny thing is, is that they are hell bent on screwing the people who make them who they are today. Which leads me to say. CDs have had their time and place. It is time for them to move on. As the internet grows and bandwidth becomes bigger, better and available to more people...you will find that cds lose value. Any physical media like discs (not HDDs)will lose value. Why the hell am I going to try to back up my media or documents on a CD or even a DVD or EVEN a HDDVD. Discs are good but not as good as something like flash memory on a stick or wireless connections. I don't see corporations backing their media up on CDs, DVDs, or HD-DVDs. There is no way a CD should cost more than it does. It is just technology and anyone who knows technology knows and understands that the older things get the cheaper they get because something better comes out. RIAA has extremely flawed logic and again I think they are dropping acid.
If CDs weren't so cheap right now, how many new technologies or discoveries would there have been. People often forget how important data rentention and data sharing is. I wonder how many doctors, scientists, teachers, lawyers, law makers, etc. all have burned a CD and how many of them actually used it for their professions. I am sure the number is quite high and it goes to show you how one technology could save the world or advance humanity.
The fact that it this stuff is given to society at a low price is amazing and should stay that way. Ofcourse, any new technology ends up costing a lot in the beginning for many reasons like to recover the costs of R&D with the product and sometimes just to make the most amount of money. Eventually those prices drop and not go up. We know that something better will come along.
One thing I would suggest to the RIAA and MPAA is just to give up and come up with some other business model that pwns everybody. Isn't that what we pay you for anyways? The fact that you guys aren't creative enough to actually come up with a viable business model that is fair and profitable it just astounds me. I don't know about everyone else in the world but I am tired of paying money for an album that has maybe one or two songs that are fairly good and the rest of the album sucks. I am tired of paying for that intern to get your f-ing coffee in the morning. There is no reason why these publicists, or producers, or managers should be getting what they pay. You know where all your money is going from a CD sale? It definately doesn't go to the artist. Artists make so much bank off of concerts and private appearances it is absolutely insane. And yes there is people working behind the scene in a lot of that especially concerts but today I mean if you actually had talent you can record all of your work on a $4,000 PC and have studio quality sound. Not only that but you have things like the internet to promote yourself. Use myspace, youtube, google video, ifilm, etc. Make your own website and advertise the hell out of yourself. This isn't rocket science. If you are good then you should be easy to make gigs, go to concerts, do major venues(yes, I know it costs money to do that).
I would love to see all musicians, actors,actresses, producers, managers,etc. get paid what they earn. I would put it about $80,000 a year and royalties if they sold in their cds, songs, concerts really well. I have this system at work at it drives me to actually work really hard to produce a good quality product to the best of my ability. Try doing 70-80+ weeks for 8 months at a time. 16-19 hour days sometimes. I only get paid what most teachers get paid but I also get a bonus which helps. I don't
Because Americans are full of ignorant people who don't really care. The majority of Americans really just don't care and it is sad. America just be called The new Rome. Supply the people with entertainment and people could care less about what is happening at the top.
This is true for a lot of things. But in this case most likely not. The head top guys who created the copyprotection and encryption for HDDVD and BLURAY my guess had months to years to come up with this scheme. This guy got around HDDVD in 8 days and alittle less than a month for bluray (well not exactly sure how long he spent on bluray, I am just estimating the time he announced the HDDVD work around till todays news).
This is a good and bad thing. It is a good thing for everyone because it gives no room for the movie industry to manuever. By the same token...this also evens out the playing field again so no format is going to win at this point. My personal bet is on HDDVD, but who knows.
sorry what I meant to say is...there is always someone smarter than the people who actually make the encryption. They can always reverse engineer and find a work around.
This gives the movie industry no where to run. There was the fear that when the HDDVDs had a work around that the movie industry would go bluray. Now this gives the movie industry very little room to do much of anything at the moment. They just don't get it. There will always be someone smarter than the people who are smart enough to reverse engineer things. They always think they are one step ahead but in reality they aren't. How about not using Internet Explorer. Fixes just about everything dealing with spyware or adware. It is simple and loads better than IE.
Or we can prosecute companies that hijack your computer and then want you to buy their software to remove their crap.

I rarely ever see someone use mosaic filter applied to something like a check or a credit card. I am sure it happens but it is pretty rare. Also if someone really likes the mosaic effect but thinks someone really wants to spend time trying to deal with it...then you can always use the smudge tool in and sweep it across the numbers before applying the mosaic effect or even after the effect. There is no way anyone will read that. Or you could just completely black it out which would be the optimal choice. Not too mention you could mosaic a mosaic to give you a different set of values which makes the so called "script" invalid.
