    This article is such complete FUD. All new formats are slightly expensive and Phillips developed a method of pressing the disc in one 1.1mm polycarbonate layer, as opposed to two .6mm polycarbonate layers like DVDs, that offset the cost of using the Durabis 2 material, (which doesn't scratch, even from steel wool).

The French support we enjoyed during the revolution was critical. It was not, however, in any way comparable to the support they enjoyed during WW2.

    No, it was two references to trying to hide behind an al queda defense and a "you betcha" reference. You can't seriously think that I was the one making this a political argument.

    Honestly we can't blame this tactic on Microsoft, though they have been highly visible in this regard, due to their high volume of security flaws. It's almost as bad as a bunch of automaker executives running away from a flaming car and blaming it on Ralph Nader.

    I'm pretty sure that metaphore is bad enough to make baby Jesus cry. I have absolutely no clue how a software company taking longer than 3 months to patch code that could have tens of millions of lines is like automakers blaming a car explosion on ralph nader because he's al queda....

    I understand that you want to try and make everything a political argument about how much America and/or Bush and/or Republicans and/or the intelligence community and/or Congress sucks, but seriously... a software patch?

    No, essentially what I'm saying is that if you want to make life under the US government better, give yourself credibility by not comparing it to a place like China. Im all for improving the government. Heck, I'm Libertarian, I don't like the way either party run things. But using hyperbole is not the way to convince others to help you change things for the better.

    What european country has less freedom than the USA? I mean, i'm spanish, and i can't bear guns so easily as you cowboys but you know that this point very is arguable as a freedom, and we always can get a license.

    I didn't necessarilly mean less, I meant not the same -- hence my choice of words... "not the same".

    For example, here in the US, in ANY court case, the burden of proof is on the prosecution. In many europeon countries, this varies with the type of court case. Libel cases, for instance, have the burden of proof placed on the defendent in Brittan.

    Or you could be moderately intelligent and undersand the point he's making. EVERY civilized country reduces freedom, rather than simply being unable to enforce granting all, for the sake of whatever the fuck you define 'civility'.

    But to say that they are all the same because of this is like meeting a rude person than thinking the every other person who also has a nose must also be rude. Everyone has noses... noses don't make us more civil. Every government has rules... those rules don't make them oppressive.

    But think about this:

    A company, (like for instance Amazon), may make money only through internet sales. However, let's say Amazon carried a book which detailed the human rights violations of China. China goes up to their DNS servers and hijacks the domain for 14% of the worlds population.

    The issue isn't letting the market decide, it's preserving the market at all.
