    I couldn't decide between fast and lightweight distros so I tried Debian as a temp solution. I've had Debian squeze on my Thinkpad for the last 1,5 year, and it really is an out-of-the-box great experience.

    I installed the nvidia driver, chrome,
    java and AssaultCube and was ready to go.

    For me it provides the safe harbor when slackware distros demand human sacrifice to work. I dual-boot to Haiku-OS as the fast web browser OS.

    No one is amazed at the looks. But they would be if they tried it!

    Time to dust off my mail server books.
    I don't feel good anymore, carrying an Android with me, even though I use a different account.

    Have anyone setup a mail/contacts/calendar server vis-à-vis Android devs on Linux? I'd pay for a GPL solution.

    In Norway you're an IT expert if you have glasses, want to get your name in the newspapers and can provide a Top 5 list of freeware tools from Cnet.
    You are up to date if you can distinguish the various windows 7 editions.

    The InterNet was ARPAnet (?) But it provided communication between the other networks.
    I'd say that from the moment interconnection was an aim, perhaps that was InterNet, the Internet was born.

    And now capitalist and political corps want us all inside the walled garden again. Don't buy lock-in devs, but if you do, hack it and show others how to do it. The future thanks you.
