Lets be serious here...THE POPULACE DOES NOT GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT SOURCE CODE!!!!!!!

Now that that's said and done, I believe that the voting system can be either closed or open source, but what really matters is when the law comes in and asks for source code a company should exonerate itself by giving the source code. On the flip side, if its closed source, they should also have the right to protect their intellectual property. It's a tricky situation, but with a little social responsibility closed source software might be the way to go.

Always remember, its closed source software that feeds your kids.

  2. Parents...the forgotten authority on Video Game Industry to Sue Michigan's Governor · · Score: 4, Interesting

Why is it that in America we allow such things to happen? What happened to parents taking responsibility for their children? As a child I remembered hearing my parents telling me "No". And if I continued bothering them the spanking would commence. These days parents are afraid to be parents because of how government regulates children. If a parent disciplines their kids by spanking, it's bad. But if this is not done, than they will grow up and be miscreants. As a conservative right-winged nut, I refuse to blame the game industry. It is the parent's responsibility to take handle of the situation. If you are reading this and want to understand what happens to a generation of children who never got spanked, by all means read Starship Troopers by Heinlein. Parents take back your children or else the state will impose its foot into your house.

"Device drivers are also problematic for Linux, Johnson said, because while there are several hardware vendors committed to Linux solutions and to releasing device drivers, a lot of this device driver support lags for Linux and is often almost immediately available for Windows, he said."
I believe that this is a falicy. I feel that sometimes that Linux-based Operating Systems (Especially Ubuntu) do have the same, if not more, hardware support. I have Ubuntu 5.04 and it picked up all my Centrino hardware, which pleased me to no end. XP picked up the hardware, but did not configure it correctly as Ubuntu did. I mean honestly, the balls on Microsoft must be big to say such a statement without checking out the competition thuroughly.

My 2 cents, take it or leave it...
