This is great news! So when does season 6 of The Wire start?

  2. Re:Not so simple on Supreme Court Says Gov't Employee Texts Not Private · · Score: 1

Regardless of what your views are on individual rights and freedom of speech, no one should expect any privacy while using a device that is owned by your employer whether it's public or private sector. Any government agency worth half a damn or private company who can't afford to bury you in lawyer fees will broadcast loud and clear that you should have no expectations of privacy when using equipment they own.

I agree that they shouldn't be able to read your emails or tap your phone without just cause. Everyone should know that just cause is easy to justify privately (low productivity numbers b/c of too much Slashdot) and slightly harder to justify publicly (US Attorney firings).

It's your employer not your parent.

    All little wordplay for you:
Hate to break it to you but...I checked out your [game/wife] out sometime ago. Yeah, yeah I know you thought [it/she] was untouched and paid full price but we barely had 10-12hrs of passionate [gameplay/lovemaking] together. This was long before you decided to [buy it/marry her]. I didn't leave any marks...well that's not entirely true but you can barely see those [scratches/scars]. Don't worry, you'll still get to have your fun. If it doesn't work out there is a [sequel/sister] and my buddy says [it/she] is much better and he's only 8 hours in. I hope you like store credit.

I couldn't agree more. It's like the game industry is full of hot air when it comes to digital delivery. If only someone could charge full STEAM ahead with solving this problem.

  5. Re:Counter-Strike on Ocarina of Time — Best Game Ever? · · Score: 5, Insightful

It still doesn't compare to the number of hours spent playing Super Mario Bros. Counterstrike can't even come close to the number of children(boys AND girls), teens(men AND women) and parents(men AND women) who were drawn to SMB like a moth to a flame. In 15 years, I doubt you'll find many people who keep a computer around just to play Counterstrike or it's sequels.

Nintendo is arguably the only developer(hardware and software) to stay true to the original idea of Video Games as a source of fun instead of pimping it out to gain control of the home theater market. Sony is starting to lose it's way and Microsoft is Microsoft.

I am not a nintendo fanboy but I do respect the Old School.

  7. Re:Want a price cut? on Xbox 360 Price Cut Dismissed · · Score: 2, Insightful

Microsoft doesn't need to even think about a price cut until Sony does it.

With the PS3 at $600 and no exclusive must have games, Sony is responsible for selling more Xbox360's than Microsoft at this point.

  8. Re:Is Halo really that great? on Bungie Vs. Miyamoto - Fight! · · Score: 1, Insightful

The greatness of Halo is equivalent to the greatness of a summer movie blockbuster. It's designed to get your $50, entertain you for 10+ hours then leave you waiting for the sequel.

Halo is not a great game, it's a great console game because it was the first console FPS to come close to the quality and presention of a PC FPS. Anyone who's played Quake/Unreal Tournament knows what true FPS action but anyone who's only played console games, Halo is the best you'll ever get.

US Attorney's aren't "fired" at the beginning of a presidential term. It is customary that they resign when there is a change in Presidency because they work at the pleasure of the President who appointed them. There was a change over for W Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan,...so on and so forth. The key point here is that most US Attorney's resign when there is a change in Presidency not halfway into the term of the President who hired them. 2-3 US Attorney's leaving isn't a scandal. 8 US Attorney's leaving in such a short span is a planned and coordinated decision.

At least try to refute what I said by not naming things that were standard on the PC long before the Xbox was around. Xbox was a PC that was dedicated to games that could only use a console controller. Xbox360 is the Microsoft Trojan Horse of Home Entertainment.

Xbox Live 2.0 meet your real father Gamespy 2001.

I am not a sony/apple/nintendo fanboy or anti-microsoft. Competition is good and drm-free songs are even better.

Microsoft has yet to show that they learn from their mistakes. The keep making mistakes only to see someone else get it right then they either:
    a) Buy out the competition
    b) Copy the competition
    c) Throw more money at the mistake and wait until next-gen to re-try A and B
