No, yours was a little different.

What was your favorite myth that you decided NOT to take on for some reason? Why did you reject it?

I agree that the questions are similar, but people like danger so this is probably why mine got modded up.

It seems like you guys are willing to try to bust any myth, but there have got to be some myths out there that you are too afraid to attempt to replicate. So my questions is:

What are some of the rejected myths that were too dangerous to pull off and why?

BTW - Thank you for having a great show that is both entertaining and educational.

  3. Quake 2 was the best on Old School Gameplay Collides With Modern Graphics · · Score: 1

I completely agree with you! I played Quake 1 and loved every minute of it, but Quake 2 had a much looser feel to it that gave me the feeling of true freedom when running around fragging everyone. The weapons felts great, the maps were awesome, and the fun factor was always there. Who can forget jumping off a box, while twising in the air, and fraggin' someone with the rail-gun? Unbelievably fun. I still remember the bouncing heads after the kills...

*sigh* That was back when people designed games for most computers rather than only the fastest most expensive computers with the most bling-bling video card...

I wanted to see what all the talk was about for Linux. Back when I first tried it, Linux was a challenge just to install.

I didn't have enough time to really get into it and didn't make the complete switch, but I will probably give it a shot later on.

Wow, the Napster creaters take a lot of blame for this, and I agree they are partly at fault with the failure of Napster. The part I do not agree with is them taking all the blame.

The RIAA had a chance to cut a deal with Napster and look ahead to what millions of users already knew about the future of aquiring music, but they decided to sue instead. They had a chance to grab the online industry just as it was starting, but instead took the wrong route and now look at them... This would be a good work-around to get people connected for free. Especially to the people who need the local, state and government sites you've suggested.

You know that once the peer-to-peer networking starts it only takes a few people who pay for the Internet to open up their machines to route people from the free wireless within the community to the entire Internet. Eventually, this would turn into a huge ad-hoc network and keep expanding.

I agree completely. The loser will adopt the new technology and people will be pissed that they have an "old-version" of the XBOX 360 if Blu-ray becomes the winner since they will have to get the mod for the Blu-ray format. The people who wait a while and buy their system when there is a clear format winner will not only be able to look at all the consoles and make a buying decision, but also be able to play the newly formatted movies.

Yet another reason for me to wait until the console wars settle...

They are going to release the spec's of the system at the same time as the price so people will see a cheaper machine with better spec's and they will hopefully (for Sony) get people to wait.

Either way, games are more important than spec's and I'll be waiting for all three new consoles to come out before I make a decision.

I seem to remember the same kind of thing happening to people on P2P networks. The ones the FBI (or whatever agency) goes after are the massive uploaders, not the downloaders.
