http://www.pcbsd.org/ Is the desktop brand of FreeBSD, as they say on there page. I have nothing agenst *BSD, it's just Unix in my view and if has something that i need. I will use it in the end. Today i use Gentoo Linux without any problem.
It is an bad thing, for Microsoft. Each time they try to go over the consumers head. Pepole don't won't want the problems that comes with it and spending money on it to fix it is out of the question in 98% of all cases.
This DRM Monitor is already dead, Microsoft just doesn't watch the news. Alot of hardware makers also don't get the news.
Also, msnbc.com told me to download IE6, then to download WMP and then i can watch there free news videos. I will find an webpage that allows me to watch there video content with firefox and mplayer plugin. Msnbc.com is useless for me, becose i can't use the features that i want to use. This same rule applyes to HD-PC monitors, and if the DRM is cutting the picture size down becose some movie studio did apply DRM rule to it, pepole will stop using that type of continent, the DRM tech from Microsoft. DRM is dead.
I use Linux and Firefox, so Microsoft and msnbc.com can go straigt to hell and they won't be missed.
I guess that SCO has alot of refunding to do. They can also fire Darl McBride from the SCO. Then they can just close the doors forever, after all. The future for SCO is not good at all.
I have even seen them produce port-scanning logs as evidence of "being hacked."
Been there, done that. I scanned my formal school network, but i also found a securty hole in a form of syspref.inf with a working password, it was in the computer class room on the C:\ drive, in clear text. I did test the password to see if it was working. Took a peek at the schools servers, but i didn't damage anything.
Then the case got to the cops, they did use port scanning logs to proofe that i was trying to damage the school network by portscanning the lan. But offcose that was plain BS.
Also, the state lawyer didn't have any evidense to proof anything on me. And the School second-headmaster did confirm my word where i had refused to damage the schools servers.
The case went to trial, i am now waiting the outcome. I hope that i win.
Its pretty simple. Its illegal to create ( and distribute ) code that can be used to break DRM. However, its not illegal to build a crowbar.
You are wrong, it is for instance not illegal to breakup this DRM crap up in Iceland, or other Skandivaian Country. But that is worth noticeing that the big companyes have been lobbing the law maker in order to change the law in order to make that illegal.
They where able to change the law in Sweden in such order that it is illegal to copy the continet on a cdrom to a mp3 player. Something simular is in the makeing in Norway and Iceland. This change is comes from the E.U, that is being lobbied by the big companyes.
But in the end, the companyes will lose, and lose big. Why, becose they can't control the pepole. Even if they try to do so.
It is just a matter of time until mpaa get's it's way in the U.S regarding locked down hardware, regarding Tv and DVD capable devices.
After all, congress is being lobbied by the mpaa and riaa.
Try /dev/null
You don't pay into your congressmen campain fund, however the companyes do. Guess who is going to have more impact on the congressmen.
It is an fact that DMCA ony help big companyes, becose with it they can do anything legally. All in the name of the profit.
People who illegally share music files online are also big spenders on legal music downloads, research suggests. The rest of the story is here > http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4718249.stm
There is also the intresting fact that music sales are growing. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/473 8181.stm
The fact is that the music industry is sueing the same pepole that give them profit. They also seems to claim losses where there are none.
The Music "Industry" creates damage by sueing it's own costumer. If it where any other industry, it had gone out of busness years ago.
Have the top CEO's of Microsoft tested Linux over some period of time ?

U.S won't do anything to China. If they do, China pulls the plug and U.S go bankrupt.
I can continue to be anti Microsoft.

Don't forget about the spyware. The future with Windows Brain XP, it also comes with PSOD.
There is also crash tweak in Windows XP, too bad that i don't remember how to enable it.
I give it two days before it get's cracked.
Let's ban the word "Microsoft" and "Windows" from the internet. That will teach Bill Gates a lesson.
Why can't they just use the old way, elections don't need voteing computers. The old way works just fine and it leaves a paper trail.
Computers make cheating in elections too easy.
BBC Three Doctor Who Confidential is really nice show to watch after each new episode of Dr. Who.
Big numbers make everything look important, when we are speaking about damages. The bigger number the better.
FBI is a showoff, along with CIA, NSA and whatever three letter gov.org that U.S has.

(Now i will get flamed to hell and modded up)

Tv, mp3, camera, pda, debit card, credit card, am i missing something ?
I guess that this also means that Windows Longhorn will call home to Microsoft headquarters to let Microsoft know about what user is doing.

I can imagne the mpaa / riaa complains on this new p2p tech. Blaming it for lost income, that dosen't exist to start with.
