Even when I took Nuclear Physics in the early 70s we had a reliable analog computer...the slide rule. I had already spent a fortune ($335) on the then new HP-45 but my K&E deci-trig-log was still clipped to my belt as a backup. In those days, many professors did not allow HPs since they thought it gave an unfair advantage to the students that had one. Then TI got into the game and all bets were off.....
Apple also provides excellent support even as a MacBook begins to age. Another reason that Windows on a Mac is a good option when necessary. OS X though is far superior to any version of Windows.
BHO has been throwing money at break through technology like Solendra since he was elected. None of it has panned out. At least Gates is spending his own money. I guess it is his to waste.
This has gone on since the industrial revolution, think buggy whips and slide rules. When I attended business school it was Wordperfect, Lotus123, and dBase. They didn't survive the Microsoft onslaught very long. I had to adapt or falter. I guess its progress?
She didn't do very well with HP, what makes her think she can be president.
Never mind, look at the Alfred E Newman running the country now. No offense MAD Mag!
What about Raspberry Pi. It has done an awful lot to expand educational opportunities in Europe and the rest of the World. Many teachers and children have been inspired to learn to "code" because of the RPi. It does take time for all of those 7 year olds to develop and enter the workforce though, how about 15 years or so including engineering school.
It may only take one scientist to come up with the "right" conclusion, but politics and money can and do corrupt what is called scientific consensus. Global Warming, Global Colding, and Climate Change certainly fall into the category or corrupted by politics and the money that goes to support scientific investigation.
I have no doubt that the 5% will survive and multiply. The 5% that made it through are the strongest and most adaptable. That is the way nature works. Duh! I thought the guy was a professor. I wonder how the mosquitos did?
Another post mentioned that this stink bug was an invasive species. Too bad, so sad.....
In DC, all they have to do is let the politicians out of their cages and bullet proof cars. That would provide enough hot air to warm things up anyway.
Get an education, work harder and grow up.

At least the Wall Street Journal isn't a liberal hack like the New York Times.
Thank goodness big brother BHO cannot be president for another term!

Most probably about global warming is history is any indication.

More baloney than Oscar-Meyer....
More claptrap from this deceitful administrations.
I just left Germany. The internet speeds there were terrible and very expensive compared to cable in the US.
A MacBook Pro with a Quad core i7 does pretty well and doesn't overheat even when rendering video with Dreamweaver.
As the father of an IEEE PE Electrical Engineer - I suggest play. Playing with technology toys and lots of reading.

The left already has enough PAC money from billionaire foreigners. No thanks!
Sounds like the same drive to produce global warming results.
I don't necessarily agree but, any book retailer has the option of selecting the books that it makes available for sale. It is called marketing.
Sea level rise - kind of like the hockey stick model.... kind of like a hockey puck or just plain bull hockey....
I guess it wasn't due to climate disruption as all os the selective skeptic scientists have been saying....
I live in a rural Virginia area. Comcast is my only choice. They don't care.
