This apparently differs enough between different implementations, that typical code used by malware for this purpose becomes identifiable.
Of course, as soon as the malware-makers just use more standard code, their tunnels become unrecognizable as well.

At the moment, (some) US universities still have an apparently superior product to sell, but that will change in the next few decades as of course some of those going back will become professors in China and eventually, the Chinese will get academic culture right enough to educate their engineers an scientists domestically. The biggest problems they probably still have are conformity and a focus on learning facts instead of thinking. Cannot educated good engineers and scientists with that. However, they will eventually find a way to deal with this cultural handicap.

For once, people working part-time just have their salary counted as if the worked full-time. As more women work part-time, that creates a strong skew. Then, any jobs in public administration (where all wages are fixed and the same, hence zero pay-gap) are excluded. And then you compare apples to oranges by counting all jobs the same.
The motivation to declare another demented war is easy and the same as the other ones: By declaring war on things you cannot get rid of, you have an endless way to misdirect people away from real problems. Just with the gender pay gap lie, it is even more clever: You cannot win a war against something that does not exist. Hence you can fight it forever and you can use it to give the appearance of going something noble forever. This is advanced clever manipulation of a population that in general cannot even recognize cheap manipulation.
Prison is not about removing somebody from society. It is about punishing them. Hence there is a length of the stay there that has nothing to do with the risk to society. Now, I do understand that the mental institution can be a real problem as implemented now, but it is about protecting both society and the person. Hence it is the right solution for this type of problem. And if the procedures are inadequate, then they have to be improved.
There, they will get released after a while, unless they manage to do something really large. People like this one need to go under permanent supervision. At the same time, it can rightfully be said that this person is insane and hence prison is again not the right place, as punishment will accomplish exactly nothing. (Yes, I do understand that prison in the US is about revenge and economic incentives, not punishment. But unless the US stops using the mind-set of a stone-age primitive here, problems like this will not get solves and will continue to cause significant damage to society.)
Oh, Intel has been caught in massively illegal things they could not talk themselves out of. Just think of the $800M they had to pay to AMD due to illegal (read: criminal) business practices.
