From an economical point of view the means that the youngsters using this software are indeed having a 'free lunch', aka increased consumer surplus, but not at the cost of producer surplus.

I think most of you are forgetting about the differences between American and UK (and at least some common wealth countries). If it's anything like in Canada these guys don't even get voted in so they're basically just a lingering monarchy, not quite a democracy. Why let some guys who don't even show up for work half the time who are just buddies with the Prime Minister get paid lots of money and have say of what real people want when they do not represent the real people.
Yes I believe it is contagious. The pathogen? The collaberation of a wireless phone, Visa, local pizza delivery phone number and a nice MMORPG or TV show. Subjects may succumb to illness within one level advancement. Effects noticable within two weeks. Side-effects include pizza box pile-up, loss of significant other, loss of time dedicated to talking through the mouth, and acute grinding syndrome. There is no cure.

Damn Americans... electrons have a negative charge and losing an electron creates a cation (positively charged ion) not an anion (negatively charged ion). Electricity flows with electrons (negative), they are not positive just because it looks nicer. How about that this is a single case of serious violence over a mmorpg and there are many cases of sport, after sport and such violence and when it happens once with nerds it's a huge deal.

ever consider the benefits of mmorpgs and computer games? ever compared the real violence rate and drug rates between nerds and jocks? jocks are the generally the ones beating peers, raping women and snorting coke. sh~t happens with anything. what doesn't influence people?

Yea I thought that it would be a good device. I can't believe I paid $300 for a device that was on its way out. Come on Palm OS 4, no audio jack, low res screen, what the hell was I thinking? The old school style shell decided to crack on me with the screen, which was just as good, because the device was near useless. If I am to get a new PDA, it will probably be a PPC or just a damn good PalmOS5 device like the Zodiac (with a hacked OS), or maybe a Treo.
