Active sonar is *extremely* loud and concentrated sound. It kills. Using such in fish spawning grounds and near whale gathering places is *stupid* and a criminal waste of resources.
Whales are resources again, now? Cool, man! I'm gonna go get my harpoon right now, and score me some of that luverly whale oil!
Ah, but no you see, I'm British;)
I'ma have to say we win at most of those.. except the sexy gays and lesbians... and the maths thing (I've got no idea what the f*** that is, dropped maths at 16)... and the wine.. and the psychoanalysis,............. and speaking French...
But apart from that, what have the Romans ever done for us!
As much as this may surprise you, it's not a matter of personal choice.
I have to keep myself alive while I take enough studies to stop me from working anywhere near enough hours. It just pisses me off when people seem to presume that money is no object to everyone.
From as far as I can tell, TFA suggests they don't mean free phone calls, but that they're trying to get everyone onto using Skype in the next five years or so.
You can already play the video on a computer, you just can't burn to DVD.
Apple aren't trying to sell TV to the main audience... yet. Apple's always said that the iTMS exists only to make people buy iPods (And the, when they go "Hmm, the iPod was nice, I wonder what an iMac is like?", that's not a problem), and they're sticking with that. This video is intended to be played on the iPod, where it uses the full abilities of the screen, not really anything else.
Buying High res TV shows off the net, to play them beautifully on your TV isn't really going to convince you to buy Apple hardware, is it? It's been said again and again, Apple is a hardware company.
Sure, but when you do get both, what you don't get is a giant ship sinking, spilling fuel oil or nuclear waste, weapons (er, and potentially thousands of lives) into the ocean. An economical, strategic, tactical, and ecological bargain.
Because, of course, once the Navy stops these approaching torpedoes, they'll just ignore the attackers, and let them sail away....
Riiiight...
The only consideration here really, is whether you want the men crewing these ships to be safer, and I think most of us can agree on that choise.
So, we have banned orbital nuclear weapons, and a group launching a nuclear capable "satellite", and then mysteriously losing it?
Ooh, the conspiracy theory boys are gonna love this one. At least, they will till all their computers stop operating after a mysterious huge EMP from the upper atmosphere...
they just connect random ones, and the brain works it out afterwards.
They've cut mice in half and done this, and while their back half screws around for a bit, it's really not very long until their motion is completely back to normal.
Don't Be Inc still own the trademarks to said names? I know they kept them when they were bought by Sony, or has the company completely dissolved into stocks now, and lost its trademarks?
"Despite all their self-congratulation about open communications"
I don't remember hearing about this, last I heard they simply mentioned that they were using an open protocol to support run their service. Google is a company, people, it runs off money, not fanaticism. They don't have to do all the other things that the open source geeks do, that's not important, they use the piece of the code that's useful for them.
That is, after all, the point of open source, is it not?
Of course, myself, I got a second hand 21" Sony Trinitron VGA monitor for about $80, so I'm fine :)
Mmmm, obscenely high resolution...
Personally, I like to look at the geysers of blood. Those are always a good sign.

Ignoring all the many, important reasons to use nuclear (Which I agree with)..
Let's do it to beat the French!
Because some of us aren't rich wankers.
And now with advertising in it, yay...
Geez, I've got a pile of those in my basement.
You, my good man, are a genius.

It was Summer Time, so it's actually just starting, at 6:00 PM, GMT, but thanks nonetheless :)
Anyone know what time the Special Event is? GMT, if you can.

Come on, if he'll do Snakes On A Plane, he'll do this...
Quoted for great justice!
