    I share your sentiments.

After years upon years of not buying a PS2 I finally gave in and bought one. Why? Because I wanted to play Katamari Damacy (and its happy colourful sequel). Just for that one game, yes. Because everything else is crap that's repeated over and over again. I don't care for photorealism at all, and frankly most 3D environment games make me dizzy--I just want something fun.

Unfortunately my idea of "fun" isn't pretend-sports or FPS or racing car games or Shoot-random-things or any of those tired genre, so I don't, in fact, cannot buy games.

Ironically the few games I would really, really like to play on the PS2 are all either import from japan only, or else so "obscure" noone carries or has even heard of it. (i had one clerk tell me game X was only on Game Cube and gave me the dirtiest look thinking i'm retarded. No, it's there for the PS2, just that noone is selling them...)

My solution? I'm modding my PS2.

that's bull crap. Just because you'll have access to a lot more information doesn't automatically translate to all of that information instantly becoming useful. They used Hells Angels as an example. Have they actually thought about asking the neighbours where they have gathering if they've noticed anything "strange" lately? That will save telecom companies a lot of money and certain the 24/5/365.25 survalence costs.

So you want the technology to be there for you when you use it. How often are you going to be using that? It just doesn't justify the cost and the privacy concerns. And phone/internet tapping is almost always NOT the first thing that tip authorities off anyway -- when something BECOMES suspicious, there are already devices out there that will let cops tap THOSE specific lines.

This really reminds me of your stereotypical "ex-boyfriend". He had been a rather horrid human being, but I stuck with him for a while, out of past affection. The relationship keeps getting worse and worse. Until finally I met someone better who gets all the basics of a relationship right before showing me anything "fancy".

The new guy didn't bug me with crap, responds to what I need faster, present interesting information/messages to me in a clearer way, and even come up with a few surprises I didn't know was capable for a boyfriend. So months and even years later, the ex comes back and tells me he's changed. That he does this and that now. That he "is the rebirth of " boyfriend-dom.

nah,,,,,not really I guess it's pretty disturbing whichever way you look at the extra story plot line. And anyway it's only in there because it pleases the fans in a sick way, like the rest of the game.

About the under water level, it's way more fun than mere vertical challenge...Your katamari can be fished out of the water, losing valuable rolling time. And also you move slower than on land. Also, you literally speed cruise around a small island on the racing level, picking up your opponents who cheekily try to out-speed you.

But I've got to say that one of the funnest (yes...) part of the game is how unabashedly violent and sick the idea of the game is. You roll up people, they scream, they flail around trying to dislodge themselves from the massive ball, they fail at that. You roll the ball, by how weighting in tonnes, and the people get crushed by even bigger objects you pick up. Finally, when you're done, your Dad BLASTS the whole thing into space where they become a "star", presumably cathing on fire in a nuclear fission type reaction.(how else does it glow from light years away?)
