The Dell has crappy intel graphics while the macbook air has nvidia graphics, clearly you have no clue on telling the difference between the specs.
The Dell is even slower and costs more, Macbook Air with Windows Vista is still cheaper

You wouldn't need the hardware if it worked on 3rd party hardware. I could go build my own mac for much less... Apple already sells their Operating System cheaper than Microsoft.
I don't think Apple thinks it is important to run virus scans on hard drives. How many Viruses do they run into? Before you get all anal about a virus ending up on a hard drive think about what I just said.
I have a legal version of Windows, I have no fear of Microsoft. It doesn't send any personal information. It just sends your PID to see if is Legal. If You have something to fear, stop using Windows. Run Linux or go buy a Mac, Its your choice.
Isn't it their software? you bought the license for it, but you don't own Windows. Any software company has the right to do anything to their software, You also have the right not to use their software. If you don't like it uninstall Windows...

This setup is very over priced, personally I would of not done the 400gb drive, and just raid like 2 250gbs together would be cheaper, also sounds like they just went to a random site and picked out stuff not on sale, if you go to www.slickdeals.net you can find alot of cheap stuff.

MacOS X: $129
If they are just comparing the operating system they really shouldn't say that Windows is cheaper.
Now if they go buy OEM versions of the operating systems. Apple gets their OS from Apple so ummmm no mark up.
