    yes, i know you meant 900+ megabits/sec, but they said it was 6.7 gigabytes in less than a minute, well, about 149 minutes later and they'd have a terabyte

    somewhere along the line the math is very bad because 923 megabits/sec by my math is only .05 gigabytes a minute

    Yeah, we don't need mondifier keys, we have mice with more than 1 button.

    2 button mice can produce 3 different combinations without any modifier keys, 3 button mice can do 7 combinations, yes the scroll wheel is a button, and most computers shipping today seem to have a scroll wheel, useful for when FreeBSD too, as a third button, and a scroll wheel.

    But 1 button is enough for Mac people.

    The PC industry can get away with a higher price for a couple of reason, one, mommy and daddy can do their taxes, e-mail grandma and surf for porn, they're not going to buy a 600$+ system that can only run games for Bobby which is the price it would head to without getting their money from licensing, and 1200$? try 199$ with everything you need from Wal-Mart for their Lycoris and Lindows machines

    As the page you posted says, without actually saying it, ganglion cysts are basically harmless, and unless cause you problems can be ignored, I've had them for several years and they come and go without any problems, one doctor I mentioned them to said I could get surgery, but they wouldn't be guaranteed not to come back, and the traditional method of removal used to be smashing them with the family bible.

    at least 75% of the point of a tablet pc is not dragging around a keyboard

    this machine therefore doesn't do anywhere nearly enough to qualify for "does everything a tablet PC is supposed to."

    Anthro stuff is nice but expensive, at my last tech job the Anthro cart desk's were genereally more expensive than the equipment we put on them, as an ultimate computer desk, as well as an ultimate video editing desk and just about any other type of desk, Anthro cart is the best stuff money can buy, a lot better than the IKEA stuff everyone else got.

    True, but how many servers do you need per desktop machine?

    For http it's a couple of thousand or even hundred thousand and most people running unpatched and without firewalls are going to be the home users.

    Considering you can run LAN games just fine and use a simple piece of paper to keep track of your ladder, your use of bnetd still isn't justified

    Battle.net is a value add service, you want it? you use theirs, real simple

    Also, the product wasn't yours to use as you saw fit, it was a beta limited in scope to a few thousand people, don't like that? tough

    I stopped buying Blizzard products after they became shit, not for any crusade against people that want to protect their property

    actually it only has to be readily available to the person you made the binaries available to, if you sell a product for 10,000,000$ and some yahoo off the street demands to see the source you can tell them to go play with themselves, only the person paying the 10,000,000$ has the right to have access to the code from you, of course they could then make it freely available to anyone they wish, but you're still not required to give source to a person buying it from anyone buy you

    the copyright statement only has to be retained if they redistributed their code, with the new bsd license i can take pretty much the whole freebsd project, copile everything, and make no mention at all that there ever was a freebsd

    what i dont understand is how this guy can complain in the first place, you can only required to give people code to gpl projects if *you* gave them binaries, of course then you could redistribute it to your hearts content, but the peopel you give it to still can't request code from me, only you as you became their distributor

    Yeah, i'm not sure what he was doing as it takes me significantly less time than 4 hours to do what he did, including recompiling the kernel, and i'm by no means a master of freebsd, still lots of stuff for me to learn, takes probably about an hour total, maybe he's using something along the lines of a pentium 200 and compiling x from ports instead of using the package.

    I beg quite heavily to differ on your statement about Linus Torvalds, the NetBSD and FreeBSD projects were going long before Linus ever stepped on the free *nix scene, and what would have happened to the GNU project without him? Maybe GNU/HURD would be done by now.

    Now mod me down for actually knowing what i'm talking about.

    Considering this is a local exploit and so what if you are hacked it's your machine, they also seem to allow FreeBSD on their custom build a server option, so whatever problems they did have with it seem to be gone.
