My GST cheque's the same, as far as I can tell... though it prob. wouldn't be till next year tat that changes.
Anyways, this and the comment above it are pretty troll-y... like sure this government hasn't done a lot in the last year, but the government before it, you know the one that was in offics with a majority for 12 years or so? what all did they do? NOTHING.
And i'm pretty sure that they (the liberals) were discussing doing this too, when they got knocked out of power.
Aye, it's like that in Canada too, our Tories (conservatives) are way lefter than the entire US political spectrum. It sounds like from what he's talking about, he almost wants the word Libertarian, though... you know, with the whole "the government should stay the hell out of business" thing... P.S. I hate Canada's Liberal Party... Grr...
Actually, my friends and I call this the 'Engineering Factor', where the longer you're in a technical program (i.e. Engineering, CS, etc..) the lower your standards for physical beauty become and the higher esteem you grow to place on the minds of the women... Either that, or it's just maturity kicking in... not sure about that one... I had the worst of both worlds of insufficient females in class with Computer Engineering, but in all my wisdom, I made the decision to switch to Chemical Engineering and haven't looked back (way more girls, and way less messed up math -- both plusses).
I'm a relative newbie on the slackware scene, I installed 10.0 the day it came out, and now have happily upgraded up to 10.2, everything works well, and its so very much better than RedHat and SUSE were. Plus I don't have to do all that sketchy Gentoo compilation... I have a friend who decided to try out Gentoo at the same time as me, and he's *still* installing it.
How is Opteron not proprietary? Only Intel and AMD can manufacture AMD64/EM64T chips. These chips (as with their x86 brethren) are among the most proprietary of chips, up there with Power 5. The only chip that's anywhere close to not being proprietary is the SPARC, which just about anyone can make (though only Sun and Fujitsu seem to).
AFAIK, the banks and telecom companies are still buying mad quantities of Solaris on SPARC. Why in their right minds, would sun switch their primary platform, and thus alienate all their loyal customers, who would then be put in the position of having to choose a new platform (which might or might not be provided by Sun).
Plus sun has some pretty revolutionary SPARC stuff coming out in the near future, Niagara and Rock being the two best examples. I have a funny feeling SPARC is here to stay for quite some time.
Plus did I mention that sun has about 40% of the Unix server market, which if I'm not mistaken is about four times the size of the Linux server market?
I was going to wear my Sun Microsystems leather jacket with a huge Java logo on the back, but alas, I also didn't get one of the highly coveted invites.

Wasn't that the ontario provincial parliament? or did i miss the feds doing it too?
W00t! go ChE.. Chemical Engineering all the way! Yeah, I must agree, the "Fem" Eng girls are what it's all about.

I think he's from Arkansas and wants to marry his sister...
6) If your server is a Dell, turn of furnace and save on heating bills, even if you're in the Canadian North.

Wow, the mere thought of that gave me a stiffy...
And the extreme antitrust violations by Intel.
I wish I had a FLGS, my area is significantly lacking in the AD&D...
I think I just creamed my pants... i'd better go look for some new ones...
I believe that Sun does up to 74 Dual-cores, so that's like 144 CPUs, but still, it is sad to see the death of SGI
Does it run on Linux?
Plus WINE Is Not an Emulator.
Sorry, must have remembered a old stat or something, I guess I'm on Crack. But still, Sun's nowhere near dead, nor is the SPARC architecture.

Mod parent up, so people see it, it's fairly informative, and most relevant.
If you look in our server room, it's completely dominated by Sun Boxes, but then again, we're running solaris on sunrays for our desktops.
Why would they change platforms? What they have now does the job and well. There's less work to keep it the same.

My sentiments exactly, especially about the colour scheme.
And well, as in Sun's case.
Haha, that's true in my opinion, Goatse is far less horrible than most ASP and Cold Fusion websites.
