How about take a fraction of that budget and start programs that informs/teaches the public how to spot and handle terrorist/terrorist activities? Seams like the average Joe is doing a pretty good job of this already.
I used to run my TV using a Mac Mini with EyeTV so I could watch and record TV. It was awful, very unstable, crashed often, and required a CS degree in order to understand how to record a series. If Apple is coming out with a TV, they need something much much much better then EyeTV.
Um... so you're angry with Apple, because a third party vendor had crappy software? Maybe that's why Apple is thinking about getting in the market. The current offerings are kind of crappy.
Silly Chinese government. Times like these make me proud to be an American. I can find whatever I want... Look, I'll just fire up the ole' Twitter and check out what the Taliban has to say... oh wait. Crap. Damn you Lieberman!!!
Me: Samuel, what's the best way to air transport serpentines? Samuel: Enough is enough! I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane!
Just because they (or you) say that, doesn't mean its true. They played a huge part in it. They are the ones that created the system and they are the ones that entered into an agreement with UMG. Wether or not UMG "wasn't supposed to do this", is irrelevant. Google's poor oversight and management of these takedown tools and not keeping an eye on how their partners use them, is just as bad in my eyes. If their system has a loophole for people to bypass the DMCA, then they need to fix it and manage their system and partners better, if "Do no evil" is still relevant to them.
Don't get me wrong, this is a pretty skeezy agreement,
Agree, but the thing is Google also has an "agreement" with their users. If the terms of use doesn't mention that they allow this, then Google is breaking their own agreement.
Once these ISPs learn that we're entitled to everything we want, they'll finally have to stop throttling us. Then we can continue to consume content without paying the people who spent their lives creating it.
Um... how is mimicking the BitTorrent protocol taking money away from people? It's not. You, just like the people who pay you, are so scared of losing control you will go to any means to suppress a technology instead of innovating and coming up with new business models that make it easy for people to consume your product.
Of course, I'm sure it's just cheaper to buy politicians and people like you.
I agree with this guy 100%!!! But to make it easier for the ISP's to censor these infringing works, then we need to have complete and total access to all of the movie and record industries contracts, licensing agreements and accounting books. That way they can easily check an infringement claim to make sure that they really do have "rights" to said works.
Quotes for a string? Works fine. Easy verification - do two searches for match this string once with and once without the quotes.
As other people have stated, it doesn't work 100% of the time. Google is making a decision as to what they think I want, instead of what I'm trying to force it to find. This sucks, especially when you are looking for something that isn't as popular but kind of looks like something that is popular. i.e. Try searching for things related to "Railo", it thinks I want "Rails". I used to be able to quote that and problem solved. Not so much anymore.
I'm not 100% sure why they are doing this, but my guess is that they are trying to push more advertising by forcing me to see "popular" terms. It's almost guaranteed that there will be advertising for those terms. Google's bread and butter is search and if that fails me, I go somewhere else.
I think newer items is a great idea. Now, if the bring back the ability to use pluses and quotes to refine my search term, I might start using them again.
If this prevents companies like Adobe and game developers from installing crappy insecure DRM measures all over my machine, then I welcome this.
90% of the population won't notice anything different, where as the other 10% who happen to be tech savvy will bitch and moan about the walled garden until there face turns blue.
Not to be outdone, I heard MicroSoft purchased the land next to Apple's and are planning on building a wind farm. But because the wind doesn't blow there all the time, they've decided to forgo installing generators and instead put in motors so the fan blades move constantly. Do to this cost increase, they are offering sticker placement all over the structures for their preferred OEM's. Also, to get the public excited and to generate buzz, they've decided to use some of the land to hold weekly or monthly concerts. Ticket's go on sale one day before each event.
Google, in the meantime, has come up with their own solution. They have built their own solar farm, which looks strikingly similar to Apple's, except the materials used are slightly cheaper quality. Anyone visiting the site will tracked throughout the complex (and some have even suggested they were tracked after leaving) and then blasted with offer's to buy cheap Viagra and tons of information regarding solar flares, the solar system, Solaris and the Southern Organization of Live Action Reenactments.
but jobs was a supreme asshole and I'm glad he's gone. attitudes like his are harmful whether you like apple or not.
It's funny how people who seem to be extremely motivated and successful get labeled as an "asshole". It's been said of Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, James Cameron, Frank LLoyd Wright, Henry Ford, Charles Lindberg, etc. The list is really quite large.
Makes you wonder who is labeling these guys assholes? Perhaps it's all of the idiot people that work around them.
All geniuses are assholes.
But not all assholes are geniuses.

F@ck, I hate our politicians.

Really? You've never seen an ad on YouTube? You've never posted a video and Google paid you some money for ads? That is not "free"

This is definitely bad PR for Google.
Haha, I guess a big thanks goes out to Australia and Brazil for being the beta testers. Thanks!
5.60 Gigawatts! 5.60 GIGAWATTS?! Great Scott!
Can I "Like" this?
I guess all the good programmers left Adobe years ago.

That technology already exists, its called "Turn off your #$@#$! TV, go outside and see the world".
The Empire wasn't corrupted. If it wasn't for the terrorist rebel scum, it would still be a model government to this day.

I hope it wasn't Michael Nesmith. He was my favorite.
He seems to have missed the Pyramid Tablet.
