If the price increases enough every natural gas producer will separate helium. This will postpone the problem until we run out of natural gas, possibly 30 to 50 years away. I am sure that when the western world runs out of these resources our previous fair dealings with the Arab world and Eastern Europe will help us negotiate some fair deals.
The system is designed for maximum ease of use, which means limited options for controlling the transfers; devices will transfer their contents automatically to another device within range.... Because the spec is designed to be both 1) low-power and 2) close range (to avoid interference problems), Sony went with an electric induction field coupler instead of more traditional radiation field antennas. Induction is the same tech used to charge cordless electric toothbrushes, and it's also being used for wireless charging in some consumer electronics devices. Because induction only works over very short ranges, TransferJet devices need to be within 3cm of each other; essentially, the couplers need to touch.
In other words it looks like the Sony device is more like a "plug without physical connection", working when devices are touched together with little or no configuration. It may also be suitable for very low power devices, for example you may be able to "touch" a PC to a battery-powered data collection device to download data.
The W-USB on the other hand seems to be more like bluetooth, connectivity for "nearby" devices.
But infringed the SCO copyright on "body part recognition games". The legal team distinctly remember the very challenging original release, where they had to distinguish "arse" and "elbow" graphics.
I agree. The "rubber keyboard" on the UK Sinclair spectrum was really bad. You could get an expansion RAM that made it even worse because the slightest movement of the machine would break the connection to the unit and freeze the machine.
many phones are "locked" to a particular network. Officially you need to pay the network to unlock the phone to use it on another network. Unofficially there are plenty of people who will "unlock" your phone for a much smaller fee (£15 compared to £100).
In practice this means "you can only download legal music and software from our approved stores.
People who download illegal files will continue to do so by obfusticating, unless you are to ban all binary transfers! It is the people who want to download legally who will now have to put up with restricted choice as well as DRM.
SCO intends to maintain business as usual throughout the Chapter 11 proceedings. Subject to court approval, SCO will use the cash flow from its operations to meet its capital needs throughout the reorganization process.
Other companies such as Delta Airlines, Texaco, Dow Corning, K-Mart, United Airlines, Toys R' Us, Macy's Department Stores and others have emerged from Chapter 11 protection after restructuring themselves for success. We intend to do the same.
I don't know about in NY but in the UK rush-hour a motorbike can travel through city-centre traffic at four times the speed of a car. Read 30mph average instead of 7.
Don't underestimate the usefulness of going through narrow spaces either, many crimes have planned getaway routes that can only be negotiated by a small car, with a small clearance that you would only take at speed if you are not bothered about scraping the sides.
I have also heard it said that if a motorcyclist refuses to stop it is almost impossible to give chase in a car, if there is no motorcycle available they just take the numberplate and call round later, when the bike is almost certainly "reported as stolen".
As far as I can see this is a way of bridging fibre channels over Ethernet. This does not necessarily mean that you will get fibre-like speed (throughput or latency). I am sure that this will have some use, but it does not mean that high performance data-centres will just be able to use Ethernet instead of fibre.
Risking an offtopic mod I will answer the question talking the old school definition:
Piracy was seen as good when the pirates restricted themselves to pirating from "the enemy". These privateers were licensed to attack foreign ships and keep the spoils.
I don't think so, any more than the hydrogen is at the top of the atmosphere.

MS will implement it to get the signoff. Then a "security issue" will be discovered and the facility removed by a "genuine advantage" update.
I'd be the same, but for the families that drive with 4 people on a motor scooter in India this is a vast improvement in safety.

and if you by an old soviet-era missile you could make a self homing nuke
Good point. From the bottom of slashdot:

So AT&T would prevent me from seeing your comment unless each post contained a legal paragraph assigning it to the creative commons.

Looking at these results I'd say the magic 8 ball probably does as good a job as the industry pundits.

Of course we should remember that "they" could well include your pension fund.
Novell doesn't stand to get much more than SCO's furniture,
If there was any proof that this was by design (which it probably was) could the directors be held liable in the US?

Are they sure its really a black hole...... I feel a great disturbance in the force.
Just imagine when the porn traders see this advertising opportunity. It will make the hacking of text signs look tame.
On the other hand, coming up to election time a "wanted for crimes against humanity" hack could go down well.

Why bother when you can use gmail or any one of a number of excellent webmail clients.

All gases are easily flammable! Carbon dioxide? Nitrogen? Argon?
