The best part of HP is their instrumentation business. This was spun off as Agilent. They still stand out in the market and are very competitive. Too bad HP forgot to keep innovating.
I just learned that Allan Sandage died this weekend. He was a giant among astronomers and did a lot of work with the Hubble. Take some time and learn about him if you care about astronomy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_Sandage
It would be interesting to also see a list of trending URL links. Would be nice to see the popular links as well as trending topics. This would give them the data to allow that.
One Word. Cintiq from Wacom. I used the 21" one for over a year. Got tired of my hand covering up the damn screen. I'll stick to a Wacom tablet and a screen. I want to see what I'm working on and not have to deal with digitizer accuracy issues and my hand and wrist covering up my work. I doubt anyone will get much precision using a finger. A Wacom is at least 2400 point per inch. A tablet using a finger cannot have that precision.
Personally, I don't care what Steve Dahl has to say either. When I saw his name I remembered his days as the leader of the 'disc demolition army' and a fairly lousy radio personality. If I don't care to hear what some clown on twitter has to say about the news on CNN I sure as hell don't care what Steve Dahl has to say.
Let's see. Warhammer Online is coming out next week. Oh look! It's publisher is EA. Guess I'll cancel my order for that. Only way to get EA's attention is to cut their income. Even then I'm not sure they'll learn. They're too greedy to be sensible in my experience.
Broadband works for me. Hell. At the moment my landline phone is dead for the next couple of days. Somehow my DSL is still working perfectly. It's kind of ironic that the same copper pair can deliver my DSL yet my voice is going to take days to repair.
If I had dial-up I'd have neither.
In the list of "industry leaders" I noticed Apple missing. Is Apple going to be that stubborn with regard to Flash on their iPhone? For all it's faults Flash is damn near everywhere. Why the hell is Apple still snubbing Flash even with Adobe opening up the format? Perhaps Apple wants to write their own iPhone Flash player? Could you write your own player just because the format is open? Seems like a tough task.
I use another CO2 storage technology in my house already. It's called WOOD. Doesn't have any patents tied to it and the more we plant, cut up and build with, the more CO2 we will remove from the atmosphere. Sure there might be a more high tech solution with a higher yield but planting trees and using them also produces oxygen as well. Nice idea but it's been done before. Way before.

I wouldn't touch the Cintiq 12WX at the moment. The backlight power supply has an RF problem and the damn tablet jitters like crazy. 10 minutes with the Cintiq and you'll feel like you had 20 cups of coffee. Wait 6 months for Wacom to fix the problem. They won't even let you return the defective ones without paying a restock fee!
I live in the same town as Heathkit. At one point they were part of Zenith Data Systems. Later on they were spun off as their own company. Since then they have catered mostley to the technical education eTeaching type fare (Macromedia Director Training Curriculum). Given that they've lost all the people that made Heathkit great long ago I seriously wonder what would make them try to sell such a closed dead-end robot. While I'm always happy to see Heathkit alive and kicking this robot endeavor makes me wonder who's running the show? My guess is that they're listening to the marketing guys more than the techies that used to drive the products.
It's too bad. Heathkit was really cool (about 30 years ago).
I ordered ONE! And Amazon shipped me TWO! Since the first one broke in a matter of hours I guess the second one was their quality assurance program in action.
Idiots.
What a mess. I ordered one. They shipped me two. (only billed for one). The one I opened died after about 3 hours. Unit still worked but the eInk screen was dead. Sent that one back for a refund. In my opinion the build quality sucks and there isn't really any good place to hold the unit where you aren't accidentally pressing some button.
I still have my free unit new in the box. I'm so un-impressed I may just send it back to Amazon for some other dumb bastard to buy it.
I hope this endeavor dies in a big way to warn others.
Indiana polluting rivers and Lake Michigan isn't anything new. For as long as I can remember they seem perfectly happy to dump all sorts of shit into the lake and rivers and laugh as other states have deal with it. We have much stricter laws in Michigan but what's the point of not polluting a Michigan river once Indiana has already destroyed it?
Oh my. Microsoft won't take it well at all. Do you think with all the chairs Steve Ballmer has broken he should consider marketing his own chair brand?
There are lots of apps like Instagram. No great loss. Plastic Bullet mangles photos on IOS just fine for me.

Too much curry. They need to work on the propellant mixture a bit.

Well they did patent a software 'Activation' procedure. Perhaps that may come into play if they need to protect OS X.
He's probably headed for the nearest datacenter to unleash an apocalyptic deluge of spam. Head for the hills! It's the end I tell you!
Gaming mode? That's what the XBOX360 is for. Nothing to tweak. Pure gaming and no fluff. The right tool for the job - Gaming on the XBOX360!

Actually as I recall the original design determined the odds to be 1 in 25 flights. Which as we've seen was a good estimate unfortunately.

If it hasn't been posted I'd say Clinton's list is interesting to say the least. http://www.usdoj.gov/pardon/clintonpardon_grants.h tm

Maybe a Wimote shaped like a small chair? A least Balmer would have something to throw around while he's playing.
Oh no. I hope they aren't gonna arm 'em with Hellfire missles. Can you imagine the mistakes then!
Next up.... SOUTH PARK transformed to an arab audience. I already feel sorry for Kyle and his family.
