If the guy really is F*cking you and you can prove it you can either take him to court for your job back( there is already way to much suing going on and you probably don't want to work there anyway ) or you can embarass him as publically as possible.
First if you drive the email conversation correctly you can make him basically order you to make the descision.
Then when push comes to shove you take it to him first when he tries to push the blame. If he won't correct the problem a paper copy goes to his boss and on up the chain and an electronic copy goes to everyone in the company with an explanation. So even if you loose you win.
Since the cameras are stationary you could just take photoshop/Gimp and create a black mask of the houses and then just us that to create a silluet( SP?). Then just overlay that on the captured image before you put it on the site.
The last few times I have read anything by Stallman he seems to be advocating that developers should not have the right to choose a closed source license for their work.
So basically he wants to control the license I apply to my work.
But he cries like a baby when someone simply doesn't mention his.
When I have upgraded my Redhat system in the past it has always installed the kernel from the cd. If I would try to deselect the kernel package it would still force its installation.
Since I am usually building my own kernels it would be nice if I could upgrade to 7.3 without installing the kernel packages.
I am wondering if a subscription is required to moderate.
I used to be able to meta-moderate and I used to be asked to moderate about once a month. Since the subscription service came out I have not been able to meta-moderate or been asked to moderate. Is there any connection?
It's not only about expense. The changers I have seen don't give you the same flexibility.
All my music has the id3 tags set thanks to freecddb. That lets me access and play my music in a way that no CD changer can. Plus I have one in my family room and one in the basement, which gives me access to my music simultaniously in both places( something a CD changer can not do ).
Third I don't actully use my CDs. They are in a box packed up so that they don't get wrecked by the kids.
The final benifit is that in their last firmware release they added a network API to control it. I wrapped it with a Java wrapper and can now make the AudioTron do things that the designers had not even anticipated.
I hate keep going on and on about it, but a cd changer can't touch it.
You can then listen to all of your music, make playlists, play by artist, genre, album. The 200 disk changers don't give you easy access to your music by anything other than album.
If sound quality is important you can do really high bitrate mp3s or even wav files. It has optical output so the nice dac in your reciever can do the converion not some crappy soundcard.
Plus the best customer service I have ever seen with any product.
Don't work for em, just own one and like it!!

All of this talk of web services and WSDL/SOAP repositories reminds me of how people used to talk about objects, object repositories and CORBA.
I think it is just another big marketing load of crap. Sure WSDL/SOAP work, but so does CORBA/IIOP. The problem is it is just a pipe-dream. What are the chances that a company will have a complex service, which solves my business need, that I can just plug into. Sure they may have some simple common services - even complex ones(that will not fit meet my need). But, the integration costs will not go away.
Sorry about ranting - I just get sick of hearing the same things repackaged as the ultimate solution every 4 years.
Or just a sign that the people who normally shop at best buy are not ready for an ethernet mp3 player in their home.
The support for the AudioTron is better than on any product I have ever had. Over the last year they have added Web-acces, Streaming Net stations, and an API that can be used to control it.
The nice part is that when they released the doc for the API the userbase of the AudioTron was geeky enough that we now have bindings to the API in about 4 languages.
I did a java one if anyone is interested.

Walmarts reasons for doing it are not important. What is important is that the cost of the OS has become enough of an percentage of the total cost that they even consider it.
I messed it up. It was a startup situation and things were going really well. Three years had gone bye since thecompany was founded and I was leading a development team. They were trying to make an R&D department and asked me to lead it and hire people to fill the positions.
I told management that I thought we should give the existing developers all an opertunity to work with "the neat stuff" since they have to do borring work most of the time. I felt that all of the people who were capable enough should get a chance to work an an R&D project periodically. That Idea didn't go over very well and that was the end of that opertunity.
Next time I guess I just can't worry about everyone else. I'm really not that nice of a guy. They just didn't realize how many talented people they had been lucky enough to hire and I thought that an arrangement like that would really be the best.
I did throw it out as a last resort.

I don't know about naive.

That is why you give him a nice email outlineing the choices and limitations. Then get hime to make the choice.
Print out the email chain and then you are off the hook.
Since the cameras are stationary you could just take photoshop/Gimp and create a black mask of the houses and then just us that to create a silluet( SP?). Then just overlay that on the captured image before you put it on the site.
At first I was going to say you should be nice and just move it. But seeing this image I don't understand what the problem is.
The resolution and lighting makes it impossible to see in his window. Just sounds like he is being a pain in the ass.

Living in Minnesota( The evil fridge of the US ) you quickly learn that the winter temp drops less at night when it is cloudy.
So you would guess that artificial coulds( Contrails ) would do the same thing.
Still an interesting opertunity. Lets hope we don't have the opertunity to study this agian.
The Thumb button just looks like a middle button press.
If I could figure out a way to get the thumb button to register as button-6 instead of just a second button-2 I would have no complaints.
Some people might think needing so many buttons is overkill, but for Urban Terror I need all of the help I can get.

Isn't that this city was there. It is that it's story has been passed down through oral tradition from what they think is 5000 years ago.

Oh the best part is that if you have two you can listen to the same cd in two rooms of your house without moving it.
If it only had syncro playback it would be perfect.

I agree with you except there is a critical difference between assuming that this would be the case and demonstrating that the assumptions are true.
Clark Williams did a lot of work to prove that the assumptions you would have when looking at combining the two patches hold.
How can a person even want to be a part of a Religion( Business ) that is so pathetic that it doesn't want people to learn about it.
Oh thats right in order to be a true believer I have to spend $$$$$

Ten year suply of viagra for some of us thats only 10 tablets :-)

The fact that they are now selling PCs without an OS is an indicator that this may not be too far from the mark.
I'm sick of hearing about it.
Miguel go join the other team so I don't have to read about you anymore!
I had the chance to be in that situation.

How many times do you get to work on something really creative at your day job?
Most work is either database, accounting, or doing web apps with some really broken methodology/tool.
The most fun I have had is working on non-work realated things just for the sake of writing some fun code.
