They weren't attacking their beliefs, but rather their practices-- charging people for their literature (LARGE amounts of money... thousands and thousands of dollars before you can learn much about it at all), their treatment of people, etc.
Xenu.net is a good place to learn about all of this.
No kidding. In Minnesota, the weather channel reported that temperatures got as low as -40F (with wind chill).... and if I'm remembering correctly, there were 40-50 Anons there.
This was happening all over the world. According to wikinews (last time I checked), there were 9200 participants worldwide (although sadly, only 40 here in Nashville).
I've got to say-- after reading some of the anti-Fischer comments here (and I'm not saying that they're wrong, by any means), reading something like this is refreshing.
Fischer had some problems, but he had an absolutely amazing mind. He had some issues with the US Government. I've always suspected that they put a lot of pressure on him during his match with Spassky-- I can see why that might have made him sour towards the US. His hate of Jews seems to stem from his mother (who was Jewish), but nobody really knows what all happened there. He went a little crazy, but I wonder how much of it was from all the stress (and pressure) he was under.
I'd like to take this moment to announce that I actually have a girlfriend that agrees with me on this. She also just told me that she doesn't want to dual-boot Linux and Windows-- she's running Ubuntu exclusively. I couldn't be more proud.
Or people who like being able to get a relatively decent computer, cheap (1gb of DDR2 ram, 250gb hd, dual-core intel processor, dvd burner, and a Geforce 8400GS for $329).
I'd argue that this is more like taking your car to a mechanic and them stripping apart your car and finding traces of coke on the insides of your seats.
But vista is NEW! And... SHINEY! And... it's got this cool bar that lets you put widge...errr... gadgets on it! Totally worth your RAM committing suicide.
Same story with Gears Of War-- it's been hell. I finally returned the game. The forum is FLOODED with people having issues with it. I don't see how this could not have been the case for at least a FEW reviewers.

I've never been so sick of chess jokes in my life.

This isn't America, where only two parties matter.
I've never had cocain turn me invisible...
Trust me, you don't want anywhere near that shit.

And she's cute, to boot!

1. Post thread explaining the plan. Include picture of a kangaroo. Or boobs.
2. Say "go go go".
PROFIT!!!
Fox "News" will have a fucking field day with this.... LuL.
No, it is just a shrubbery.

It's my understanding that IE7 is a MAJOR improvement over IE6... or at least, that's what /. was saying when it came out.
Now, I know that not everyone who goes through and edits the stuff on wikipedia is an expert on the subject, but oftentimes librarians aren't, either.
...except this time half the people wanting it ARE the parents.

Not that there's anything wrong with poetry, I just don't see how me not being able to quote Robert Frost means that my college is shitty.

Even though it's a slightly juvenile thing to do, having that sort of support from your fans has to be pretty touching.
