Ok, I see your point here... but tell me, how is talking on a cell phone and driving any different than driving a stick-shift and talking to the person next to you?
While I agree completely that some people shouldn't drive and talk on the phone, I've never really had that problem. These are generally the people that shouldn't be driving in the first place.
I fail to see how it is different from driving a stick-shift with a friend in the car.
Most facebook users I know don't really care about any "attention" they may get through the site. They use it to easily send messages to friends and keep in touch with people from their old high schools (I live on a college campus).
Yes, you sometimes see people with crazy pictures, but there are very few of those, from what I've seen.
Hold up, here: He made false statements that helped send us to war, but he's not liable in any way because he didn't make them while under oath? Would he get away with shooting somebody, as long as he wasn't under oath?
Hell, my PC is more than one or two cycles behind the "leading edge", I think.... but I haven't been playing anything at less than max settings (with good frame rate).
Athlon64 3500+, Geforce 7900GT, and 2gb of PC3200 ram. I suppose my processor is creating a bottleneck, but I've not been tempted to upgrade it. Everything runs fine-- Just finished Prey, which was running at a wonderful framerate with all settings maxed out-- did the same thing to C&C3 a month ago, and F.E.A.R. before that. Am I just lucky or something?
Every few weeks, I do tend to throw new hardware in my machine (or change some things to test them). A lot of times, Vista wants me to reactivate after that.
Compatibility, for example. Or maybe most people just don't like the interface? How about the fact that it wants me to reactivate my product every few weeks?
Regardless of how high-end my computer is, I do not want Windows Vista. XP handles my printing. For everything else, there's Ubuntu.
The fact that I have a Lexmark x7350 all-in-one printer is what keeps Windows on my machine. It isn't supported in Linux, and I _have_ to be able to print things. Sucks that they won't work on that.
The only other thing I've encountered that I'd like better Linux support for is my webcam-- a Logitech Quickcam STX. It works in Linux, but the drivers it uses are inferior to the ones that I've got on my Windows install-- at least, I believe that would be the fault of the drivers.
I wouldn't exactly say that-- the console's controller is innovative, yes... but nobody would care about that, if not for the games. The games are a lot more innovative on the Wii, IMO, than on the other consoles.
You don't find games like WarioWare on the other systems. The motion controls do help it a ton, though.
And who cares if the Wii is running on Gamecube-level hardware (I'm pretty sure it's not, though)? Does that really give the PS3 an edge over it, disregarding graphics? I've played quite a few games on both the 360 and the PS3 that had framerates that would PLUMMET at times, making the game temporarily unplayable. I've never had this problem on the Wii (as a matter of fact, every game I have seems to run beautifully and without a hitch). So the PS3 has higher-resolution graphics that slow the system down to a halt, but it's technologically superior? That's like saying your Vista box is better than my Ubuntu box because you've got 3gb of ram and I only have 2.
Well, seeing as how they're focusing on the flash app, and adding new features to it that they haven't announced for the client, things don't look too great for the client.
Regarding Google Talk--"regularly adding features to both"? You realize that the Gtalk client hasn't been updated since January, right? They've added features to the flash version, though, that aren't in the client. I'm pretty sure they're abandoning it:(
Google Talk's lack of updates makes me sad. It's my favourite messenger, but it seems like they don't care about it anymore.
They've made a web-browser based version with soem new functions, but they never imported those to the actual Gtalk client.

OBJECTION!
Nobody modded him down, just so you know. His Karma is a little low...
Posted on an Ubuntu 7.10 system.
If Vista doesn't improve, and Windows 7 ends up sucking too, there will be much better alternative OS's out by then.
Torrent?

Actually, I guess he already did...
Or maybe the UT3 developers are not good at writing efficient code?
FYI: I use the classic controller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Classic_Controller#Classic_Controller) for most of my Wii games.

Most people I've met that consider themselves "gamers" are loud and obnoxious. They also tend to constantly be surrounded by people.

Yes, but they sent me a reply saying that they do not offer Linux drivers for my device... which is what I emailed them about.

Geesh, it even says it on the top of the page.

Sorry, but that was probably more suited towards the Myspace crowd. You fail.

From what I understand, motion-controls will be enabled if you have the nunchuck controller attached.
I origionally found out when IGN was talking about it.
