  1. Hurd != Linux on HURD For 'Big Iron'? · · Score: 1
They want linux not hurd, why? because linux is/was the next big thing. linux is everywhere, everyone jumps/jumped on the bandwagon, there's a lot of support and effort put into linux, unlike hurd. hurd is promising, but sleepy. most vendors don't even know about hurd, who is using hurd anyway? i'd try it, but i'm not motivated. maybe if linux gets too mainstream i'll switch to hurd. i don't know how good is hurd in executing linux apps, that would boost its usefulness. but otherwise i don't see a point for big vendors to support it at this moment.

this is my opinion, not based on much reallife experience, but still mine...

    1. Check the Website

    3. whois domain, and get the registrators name
    4. check dejanews, for staff members and registrator
This should reveal a lot of info, otherwise hidden. Maybe, next time, we should also nmap the server, and neighbors, for additional info, also whois-ing relevant neighbours... We could also finger them, websearch (google/alltheweb) for staff webpages, and additionally query peoplesearch or similar searchengines, which may provide additional info.

    1. you can't define more wharfs, so you have to align them along one line, and it may happen that some apps are not shown, since their position is not on your screen.
    2. some wm* apps are not recognised, 'cause they're not fully wm conform...
