Most laptop manufacturers use 5400 RPM HDD's insead of 7200 to save the batteries, which does help quite a bit. I don't even want to think the batterylife from a laptop that has to spin up two Hdd's.
I guess they'd better come up with portable cold fusion quick to power these puppies.
We (the dutch) are allready doing this. The website (http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/ translate as "Missed Broadcast/Episode" hosts most of the stuff broadcast by public access (three channles here), it's all avaialable for free, and without commercials (which our public access does have, but only in between shos, not during).
I myself am enjoying this service so much, that I'm thinking of not getting a TV at all (I'm moving out soon, finally), since I'll be able to get my news, and background (60 minutes like shows) from the forementioned website. I'll just get the big american shows from the web, I usually end up doing that now anyway, since our (fully) commercial channels are atleast six months behind on the americans.
I don't use he fly either, except when I'm wearing a suit: Pulling down the waistband would mean digging under the shirt and messing all my clothes up, using the fly keeps things neat.
The temperaure thing is a myth, yes it is true that placing the scrotum against the body will make it slightly hotter. However the underpants (wich look like boxer-briefs to me), have silver woven into the material, which is an excellent (the best) conductor for heat.
Also the effect of the slightly higher heat on the sperm production is minimal. If people with only one testicle can have children, wearing briefs shouldn't be a problem .
that looks like a whole lot of trouble considering the alternatives.
1. Buying a $7 floppy drive and using it for all the machines you install (you just hook it up for install and, remove it after.
2. Using linux
For the blind I guess a simple shell (like the ones most/.ers enjoy) would work best. As for websites and menus one could tag content (menus, text, article, headline) so that the user could get their braile reader or speech program to list the things the user is interested instead of everything on the page. Typing shouldn't have to be a big problem for blind people, most geeks I know type without looking at their keyboards (and some of them without looking at the screen). I suppose the blind would be quick to pick this up, since they're used to completing tasks without the aid of vision.
I guess improvements in voice recognition software could be useful for deaf users (to caption audio), but they wouldn't really have a problem operating computers.
nope, that's kohlto.
I prefer klotho, is remarkably simillar to the dutch (slang) word for testicles.

Obviously he doesn't carry the special gene that is required to use the ancient technology, duh.
Second they said in an interview linked above that they needed extra keys to be able to add all cyrillic characters.

It's easy, just get a patent yourself. Like "the Wheel" or "sneezing" then you'll make lots of money, so we can fight these silly patents!
Sorry, couldn't help myself
Quagmire is awesome
