Not long after GMail was launched I inadvertently discovered a serious issue they had with some over-aggressive caching - sometimes when people in the same office as me logged onto their Gmail accounts they would see my Inbox - quite worrying, although they weren't able to actually open any of the messages.
I spent quite some time explaining things to the GMail devs but no freebies for me..
http://www.treo700w.com/ - LOL - didn't take long for someone to register the domain name and build a site - I expect they'll be getting a nice letter from the Palm legalies sometime soon...
There is a new genre of comics appearing that are both digital and portable like this outstanding one that's specifically aims at the Sony PSP. Some of them (like this one) are also have a Creative Commons license so readers are positively encouraged to remix it.
sorry - i shoulc've included that information in my original post - "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0"
The 'fix' they mention (setting network.enableIDN to false via about:config) only works until you restart the browser - when you reopen the browser, things are back to the same even though the setting is still false..
i've also been using the software for some time and the more i use it, the better I like it - sure, there are some slightly rough edges but the developers seem to be pretty responsive and overall i've been very pleased - it's certainly the best 3d desktop out there.
you're absolutely right and that's exactly how it works.. with free/cheap worldwide and telephone access along with a reasonable dsl service, i think sometimes think i should outsource myself to me in the turks and caicos:)
We've put a VoIP unit in our place in the Carribean and it allows guests who are mostly from the US, to make (effectively) free calls back home - something that would be very expensive using the regular telephone system.
the reason i've stuck with yahoo is that it's possible to do bookmark administration via a web page so if you're on a different machine, it's still quite straightforward to add new bookmarks into your set.
it's a shame yahoo doesn't publish some kind of web api for accessing bookmarks - perhaps only for paying customers - a bit like email..
online hierarchical storage of bookmarks - here and the Companion toolbar allows you to use/save/edit them - i like having my bookmarks stored remotely so i can access them from any machine - the *decent* gui the Companion toolbar brings makes it even more useful.
The main, perhaps only reason I still use IE is that I find the Yahoo Companion toolbar extremely useful - mainly it's ability to integrate with my online Yahoo Bookmarks and allow me to store/retrieve/edit them from.
If there was something similar but more generic for Firefox, I'd probably switch over..
Why are the pages even protected by any kind of DRM in the first place? AFAIK, They don't let you view the whole book - just a few selected pages - isn't this just the same as the track clips you can listen too (and save if you wish) at most of the music stores?
Apparently it's possible to replace a damaged cornea with one of your own teeth - I remember seeing a TV show about a guy who did it - I can't find that story but here's another example.
One of the only reasons I stick with IE is the Yahoo Companion toolbar. It allows me to bookmark pages which are stored online with Yahoo and then access them from any machine. A lot like Simpy but integrated nicely into the browser.
If only Yahoo would make a version for Mozilla or Opera.

Maybe it takes a while for the documents to be indexed but you'd think they would have added it manually given the nature of the article.

that looks quite promising...
thanks - i'll take a look.
