I recommend watching the documentary "Behind The Curve" on Netflix. I watch it last night and it was a real eye-opener.
In the last few years, Flat Earthers have gone from being a joke to something that a lot of people take very, very seriously. These people go hand-in-hand with anti-vaxxers, climate change deniers and creationists as part of a new wave of "Anti-Intellectualism".
Flat Earthers want Flat Earth theory to be taught in schools. That statement alone should be enough to make you realize that this has now gone beyond a joke and is something that should be vehimintly denied. The problem is that Flat Earthers are impossible to reason with. They keep saying "there is no scientific proof for a round earth", but if you try to present any sort of proof they completely dismiss it. Some of them even tried to do their own experiments to prove the earth was flat and (surprise, surprise) the experiments instead showed that the earth was round. This then just leads them to believe that their experiment is flawed in someway. They are completely unwilling to take on board any facts that disprove the flat earth theory.
The funny thing is, Mark Sargent (the "King" of the Flat Earthers) says that you should "question everything". Yet these people are completely unwilling to question their own theory.
Exactly. I thought exactly the same thing. The two things are already intertwined and there is no blurring to be done. They are trying to make a negative point where there is no point to be made.
You can disable any app you want in Android, even built in ones. Go into the app settings and click "Disable". This will uninstall all the updates for that app, remove it from your app drawer, and prevent it from ever running.
The only thing it won't do is reclaim the space for the original (unpatched) app. It will still exist in the system partition, but it won't ever run until you re-enable it.
Stands a good chance of being better than cygwin anyway.
But yet they've still managed to make it worse than cygwin. My main gripe is that IO is dog slow. Trying to do a "git pull" on a relatively large repo will just hang. I've never left it long enough to find out how long it would actually take.
You might have an add-on installed that causes Firefox to disable its multi-process support.
Go to about:support and look for "Multiprocess Windows". If it says "0/1" then it is disabled and will give you the reason why. The reason will probably be something like "Disabled due to an add-on", in which case, try disabling your add-ons one-by-one until you find the culprit.
None of the changes mentioned in the summary are of any interest to me. The most exciting feature of the "Creators Update" is the ability to create symlinks without elevation... Woo-hoo!
Typing the same search "presidents in the klan" into DDG also puts the same fake news result at the top (at least it's at the top if I set my location to UK. If I set it to worldwide it comes in second). Bing also puts the same story at the top.
So this is not just Google's problem. It's a problem that all search vendors need to tackle collectively.
"If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear".
If you had nothing to hide you would be perfectly willing to wander round naked all the time and have no curtains on your windows. You'd be willing to install microphones in all the rooms in your house and let any passer-by listen in. You'd be willing to give me your online banking details.
I could go on. Yes I have something to hide. We all do.
Are there any plans to fix the DLNA / uPNP client in VLC? It's been broken for as long as I can remember.
As far as I can tell there are no decent DLNA renderers on the desktop.
> So, because you like the 256 color, flat, windows 3 style icons, everyone else is just opposing change?
I never said that. All I said is I like the new icons. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however I would say that people who refuse to use Windows 10 because of the icons are completely overreacting.
The problem I have with the mobile site is that my phone just can't handle it. It is slow slow as to be completely unusable. The desktop site runs fine though.
Shouldn't a mobile site be more lightweight than the desktop site? It seems that reverse is actually true.
Sorry but your argument is nothing but a damp squid https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=...
Yes, it matters.

If you have turned off the "Allow apps to run in the background" setting in Windows, it stops search from working
Not sure why this got posted here, I replied to a completely different post!

Cyanogen Inc already screwed with Cyanogen Mod users.

Chemical Ali was what us Brits called Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf
No, we called him Comical Ali. A play on the already monikered "Chemical Ali"

Except that putty is vastly superior to the windows command prompt.

Outlawing encryption will solve nothing. The terrorists are not suddenly going to say "oh shit, we have to use un-encypted protocols now!"
So there are two Steve Jacksons? I always thought it was just one bloke!

...that thinks the new icons actually look quite nice? I will reserve judgement until I see them at the smallest size though (i.e. in "details" view).
Never heard of him!
